This makes me feel better...

The New England Patriots are widely regarded as the most intelligent organizations as far as personnel decisions. I think winning 3 Super Bowls in the past 5 years has proven that. They have a "team" concept and are known for letting "key" players go and replace them and don't miss a beat.

There are only 2 guys they backed up the Brinks truck to keep during this time.

Tom Brady AND can you guys guess?

Richard Seymour who is widely regarded as one of the best defensive lineman/defensive ends in the NFL. They just inked him to a 4 year $30 million dollar deal. So they obviously think this guy is the key to their defense and refused to let him go!

Mario Williams should be AT LEAST as good as this guy.

Meanwhile they are virtrually kicking Corey Dillon out the door by drafting Lawrence Maroney.

Oh, and can anyone remember their starting RBs for the other 2 Super Bowls? Antoine Smith and Kevin Faulk?

here's another one...the Colts decided not to resign Edgerrin James in order to keep Dwight Freeney. How about that?

Man, that says it all. Dominant DEs are much harder to come by than flashy RBs. And with Kubiak's experience, he'll take a good runner and make him great under his system. It's all about the o-line.

Casserly has stated this over and over again since Friday. And its not just us, Edge and Shawn Alexander didn't get too much interest in the offseason. Above average DE's are definately more rare.

Plus, if Bush injures his knee just once, a lot of that flash will be gone.
