The much anticipated Texansphan mock for the 2025 draft is here!
With their first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, Texans select
#25. Grey Zabel OL North Dakota State.
6'6" at 305 pounds.
Uber versatile olineman who played 4 positions at a high level. Technician who plays with violence and strong hands. Maybe not your next LT, but has time to develop and can cycle in anywhere on the line. Best suited at guard, but he could be our RT of the future but definitely a keeper at either G position.

#58. Jack Sawyer Edge Ohio St.
6'4" at 260 pounds and an impressive 4.6 40 You don't think Texans will take another Dlineman? You can't have too much pass rush! Good size for the position. Has a high football IQ and is a top tier run defender with strong hands. Is a natural leader on the field and plays with a high motor.

#79. Kyle Williams WR Washington State
6'0" 186 pounds 4.4 40
Did you think I omitted WR? Wrong! This guy has terrific potential. Exceptional route runner with explosive speed off the line and dangerous top end speed to take the top off defenses. Can play outside or in the slot with safe hands. Has one downside - is not as solidly built as you would like to see but his play cannot be ignored.

#89. Devin Neal RB Kansas
5'11" 215 pounds 4.58 40
Nice stats - 1266 yds at 5.8 per and 16 TDs
Has 115 plays over 10 yards in his career and only 4 fumbles on 760 carries. Also boasts improving hands with 10.6 per in his final season. Plays with great balance and vision and has a nice one cut with deceptive change of direction routinely making defenders whiff.

#166. Jay Higgins LB Iowa
6'2" 232 pounds. 4.82 40
Had a notable '24 season ranking very highly with PFF. Is a textbook tackler with a sideline to sideline motor.
Is an onfield general with a high football IQ. A tad slow on top speed but if he was around the 4.6 range, he would go much higher.

#236. Dan Jackson S UGA
6'2" 195 pounds 4.4 40
Played on a very good Bulldogs D. Tore up his proday and got a lot of buzz around the scouts. Tireless worker and practice warrior.

#241. Tyrion Ingram- Dawkins DE UGA
6'5" 280 pounds. 4.86 40
Prototypical size for the position.
Also played on the powerful Bulldogs D.
Purely a developmental guy due to his average tackling. I think he will learn and blossom under Demeco Ryans

Yeah a lot of defensive players on a stacked D but LB is a possible need as is S and if you think about it, we could do with some help behind WA and DH.
I think I have solid picks for the offense here.
I now accept your criticisms!😁

Zabel - Love the pick, hope he's there.

Sawyer- that high?

Williams- that Low ?

Neal- like the pick

Higgins- Dont know much about him but Iowa usually produces some good LB's

Jackson- After adding CJ I dont think Caserio will be drafting a S, although I could see him drafting a CB that also has the ability to play S.

Ingram Dawkins- Like this pick

No DT? Yet an Edge...a unnecessary and a needed but not taken.

Hmm, a defensive mock draft...

We need a solid DT prospect. Outside of that, any other defensive choice is a luxury pick. I would like a secondary player for depth and ST…slight preference for corner…on day 3, but it’s not an absolute necessity.

We can easily get a solid developmental CB in the 4th or 5th...maybe 6th. I listed 3 who are ranked 5th or so.

This kid is smooth and has size and speed. But, needs to work on his backpedal and strength at the line vs bigger WRs. Could be a great late round addition
