The Straight Dope on KEYE in Austin Texas!

I happened to stumble across this page and after reading it, I now have absolutely NO DOUBTS as to why this P.O.S. station continually treats the Texans so badly.

1.The smarmy looking sports director was BORN and RAISED in Dallas. We all know how they feel about anything from Houston.

2. He was also raised to hold anything U.T. as sacred, including having an autographed Vince Young jock strap which he sleeps with every night. (Not in the actual bio, but told to me by his gay Filipino lover "Beau Thai".

3. We were never dissed by the station UNTIL he became the sports director. Which also happens to be the same year Vince Young got the starting job in Tennessee.

To me this is all the proof I need to KNOW that none of the stuff their secretary tells us has any truth to it at all.

Dude's a Mizzou grad. They probably threw all of that UT stuff in their to make him look better here.

KEYE is no different than Academy here. It's all about what is selling and getting the ratings. The Academy next to my house in north Austin is now full of Texans stuff. Why did it take 9 years? Because it took the Texans that long to put together a good season.

If the Texans keep winning and having playoff seasons and the Cowboys continue to suck KEYE will be "proud" to be the official Austin station of the Texans.

Yea but it still deos not explain why the Cowgurls have sucked since 1996 and they have been carrying their gear. You would have thought that they could carry both teams while both sucked.

I've argued with a Golden Corral manager on South Lamar over that point as well Big Wig. They have the Cowboys and Horns emblems painted on the windows but refuse to paint a Texans logo on there. It's pure and simple bias! Nothing more!
At least we have a proponent in Lavaca Street Bar now. They are so cool to us Texans fans and I look forward to having a centrally located place to gather and watch the games for years to come.

Texanator, hilarious that you got into it with the manager of the Golden Corral. Your commitment will never be questioned.

Bigwig, an established team with a legacy is always prioritized over an expansion team with no playoff appearances. Things won't permanently change until the Texans have a Superbowl.

Good to hear about the Lavaca Street bar!
Pluckers in Round Rock I was dissapointed in when we had the place FULL of Texans fans and they still had one of the TVs on teh cowboy game.
