The sooner more heads roll the better!

Chris Palmer getting the boot is the first smart move the organization has made in 2005.

Hopefully they clean house in the off-season and get rid of all the bone heads. Honestly we all know Capers needs to be replaced........and if you doubt that, well think about this. Good coaches can take over the play-calling and win. Capers doesn't seem to give much attention to the offense unless Casserly tells him to. And furthermore, Capers is supposed to be some sort of 3-4 defensive genius, meanwhile we run an inferior 3-4 defense to the Steelers, Chargers, to name a few. Even players like Jeff Posey and Steve Foley couldn't make many plays in capers' sleepy version of 3-4 defense.

Now to easy target, Casserly, who, in my opinion has either lost his ability to know a good player when he sees one, or he just keeps bringing in players that don't fit a horrible offensive and defensive game plan. Personally, I think its both. Lets look at the amazing off-season of this so-called 'genius'.

Addressing the offensive line was supposedly TOP priority, after David Carr told them things needed to change. So Casserly brings in OT Victor Riley, who the Saints fans were ecstatic about, once they knew that he was finally off of their team. He oversigned for a guy that has been known to lack playmaking ability throughout his career, and was a questionable fit in the 3-4 defense (Morlon Greenwood). Not that Greenwood is a horrible linebacker by anymeans, but to spend that much on a position when we could've spent it on a good Free Agent O-lineman or 2. He traded some valuable draft picks away for Phillip Buchanon, when the 05 draft was stocked with CB talent. Not to mention CB was not even close to being out top need. After the trade was made the Texans informed Aaron Glenn that he was going to be released due to the recent trade, so Glenn took off to Dallas. Oakland was glad to see Buchanon go, and for some reason a lot of Texans fans thought that was a good sign?
And what happened at the draft ? I've seen OT Jammal Brown, LB Derrick Johnson playing really well for their teams so far. The Texans had a chance to nab either one, but decided to trade down and supposedly improve a pathetic pass-rush, by drafting a guy that only mustered like 2 and a half sacks in his 'BIG' season (Travis Johnson). Not that I think TJ is a bust or anything, but, if O-line was our TOP priority why didn't we draft Jammal Brown? and if your looking to improve your pass-rush, why not bring in a bonafide playmaker like Derrick Johnson ? ya ya ya, I've heard he doesn't fit our 3-4 scheme, and if you really believe that then you must think Steve Mckinnney is a good Center. Because if Morlon Greenwood can fit into our 3-4 defense, Derrick Johnson sure could. Draft Philosophy should always be draft the best player available. So I'd be taking Derrick Johnson at the 13 spot everytime. So they wanted to trade down and get picks for next years draft, so they'd be able to bring in another 'questionable' player next year. OK, then I say trade down to a spot in the 20s, get a couple picks for next year and draft C - Chris Spencer, who was widely regarded by scouts as the best O-lineman in the draft. Well sounds like a good fit for a team that could use a good O-lineman. The problem was, Spencer would've instantly plugged the big hole in the middle of our Texans line, and then Carr wouldn't have had a reason to scramble, and my guess is, he likes having an excuse to take off now. Poor guy's been running away from defenders for so many years he's forgotten how to stay in the pocket. I can't blame him, I'd be doing the same thing if I had defenders running straight at me and unblocked year after year.

This is just what I've noticed, what do you guys think ?

Forgive me if that sounded blunt at all.........but, its kind of my way of saying.

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

WHAT's THAT ?
Oh, yah, someone said I was part of the chicken little brigade. All off-season long when I was telling it how it really was. Looks like I was dead-on. So its official, the chicken little brigade knows their football.
