One might guess that an expansion team would have ample opportunities for rookie free agents to make the team and contribute, but the Texans’ brief history does not include any rookie free agents who have made major impacts.

Of the players who have suited up for the Texans after originally signing as undrafted free agents (WR Atnaf Harris, TE Rashod Kent, C Jamal Powell, DE Jason Davis, DE Terrance Martin, ILB Jimmy McClain, OLB Shantee Orr, CB Rober’ Freeman, and LS Bryan Pittman), the greatest contribution has come from Pittman, the long snapper.

Good read on some of the lesser known talent. I think that "The Kerk" has best shot of those listed to make the roster. The Texans appear to have a pretty good blueprint on taking rough talent and polishing it up to NFL standard. I have heard some good things about Pili...there are normally a couple "but's" attatched to the comments.

What are your takes on the longshots that already have a history on the team? I am a JJ Moses fan but I can see the writing on the wall for him. I have seen several posts throughout the boards that have listed Derrick Armstrong as on the bubble...I don't know that much about him other than his athletic ability is very highly thought of by the players and some of the coaches and I believe he was a CFL standout. One of my blue collar favorites is Troy Evans, I have a soft spot for motivated special teamers that make the squad on hard work and attitude rather than pure physical talent...he is also reportedly on the bubble.

I'd like to see Kendrick Starling on the field too when camp rolls up. He is supposed to have blazing speed.

4.32 40 time, that is fast. Could be a great punt and kick returner.

Still developing his ball skills, but his speed and change-of-direction agility allow him to create big plays, especially when asked to return kicks.
