The Jamel Cook Game Thread

I am going to keep a running update of Jamel Cook.

I am going to chronicle his pathetic performance in an effort to prove how utterly worthless and useless he is to our offense.

Thus far, we have run three zone plays where he has lead on the linebacker. EACH play JAMEL's linebacker made the play.

He has been in on two of the three third and long plays.

2nd quarter -

1st play - motions outside to occupy DB

No damage there

 

[coachdent]

I am so fed up with the offense. Tight ends and fullbacks on the field on third down situations. It makes no sense.


We need a third wide receiver and we need to keep Jamel off the field.

Why in God's name is Mario Williams on the bench right now?

3rd and long and Mario was on the sidelines!

WHY?
WHY?
WHY?

 

[coachdent]

Lead block to the left. Did his job.

We are FAR more successful running left than right. Winston is not quite ready.

2nd and 5. Play fake. Owen with a stupid penalty.

2nd and 20. Safe on the bench. 15 yard gain.

3rd and 5. He's on the bench...First down huge gain.

 

[coachdent]

1st and 10. Three yard gain. Did his job, but short gain on first.

Bench....first down and 14 yard gain.

Does ANYONE see a pattern here?

Play fake. No damage.

2nd and 10 on the field! Horrible cutoff block on the backside! HIS man makes the play...AGAIN!

3rd and 10 off the field. His damage done yet again! Can't make a simple block on the backside to cutoff the backside defensive end. Weak.

I live in Media. About twenty minutes south of Philly.

Just wondering, got a buddy who lives in Harrisburg. He's a big Jets fan, hope he has a bad day.

Amen on that!

Understand that it is a hurry up mode, but the Texan offense is so much better with Cook on the bench.

When you have three wide receivers on the field, that defines the defense as to who they are going to cover with and who they can potentially blitz.

With Cook on the field, defenses can bring an extra linebacker. Cook is no threat out of the backfield and a marginal blocker.

The Carr haters will blame Carr for the last two drops by Gado and AJ.

 

[coachdent]

One play last series. Another lead. Another missed block. Another tackle for Jamel's assignment.

 

[coachdent]

Thus far:

4 lead blocks.
1 successful block.
3 times his assignment made the tackle on thos leads.

1 backside block on inside zone. His assignment made the play from the b ackside.

Toss play. Lead blocker. missed his block. Man makes the tackle for a three yard loss.

 

[coachdent]

In on a playaction pass there and did nothing.


Yet another hideous day for Cook.

Yet another ridiculous day offensively for the coordination of this offense.
