Not sure what the best forum for this is, so I'll try here.
I had grand plans of spending 3 days (OK, two nights and 1 day) watching draft coverage. Instead, something came up, and I will probably get to watch either day 2 or day 3 on TV, but will probably have to listen on the radio* to the other days during a drive.
I'm trying to figure out what I'll be able to hear at various times - e.g., I'd like to at least hear the Texans' pick on the first day. So, I'm hoping that someone who has paid more attention to the clock in the past might help me know what to expect. I know the starting times (6:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m.), but I am not sure of the times per pick this year (is it still 10, then 7, then 5 after that?), and I know that those times are an upper limit, anyway (lots of teams won't use all their time). It looks like the NFL is estimating 3.5 hours on day 1, 5 hours on day 2, and 8 hours on day 3 (but I have no idea if that's even historically accurate).
So, I'm hoping to figure out about when the Texans will pick in each round (assuming no trades...). Best I can figure it's something like:
*Speaking of radio, I am wondering how well I can catch ESPN radio in between Waco and Abilene (Meridian/Hico/Dublin area). I know it's unlikely, but does anyone happen to know if you can pick up the AM radio stations from either Abilene (1560) or Waco (1660) there? If not, does anyone know if there are other sports radio stations that would give good draft coverage in that area?
