The Contract Dd Vs Dc !

THETRUTH

Practice Squad
IF IM NOT MISTAKEN WE HAVE JUST SIGNED DD TO A 21 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL. SO WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING TAKING VINCE WILL BE A MONEY ISSUE.

IF WE GET REGGIE THAT SAME PROBLEM EXIST. AND DD IS A THOUSAND YARD RUSHER!

JUST FACE IT HOUSTON DOES NOT WANT A ANYWAY YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT I MEAN. SOMEBODY PLEASE CLARIFY THE CONTRACTS PLEASE.

First, please take off the caps lock. It is hard to read and is considered shouting in the internet world.

There are a couple of key differences between Carr & Young vs. DD & Bush. Either Bush or Young if taken at #1 is going to get a contract averaging around $9 mil per year. Young + Carr is thus $17 mil on the cap. More importantly, while spending that much, only one can hit the field at a time--whoever plays, at least $8 mil is sitting on the bench. DD + Bush is $12.8 mil on the cap and both can contribute and both can be on the field at the same time. RBBC works, QBBC doesn't. That is why folks frame the debate as Young vs. Carr + Bush.

thank you very much that what i'm saying.. there is no change of pace QB and there is no closer QB in the NFL.. thats why drafting Young would make NO sense at all when we gonna keep Carr..

Bush would be a better pick cause you can have a 2headed monster at RB to give each other breathers when needed.. Davis is a good back and Bush is a great back.. why not have the double threat like the Broncos or Steelers have both play-off teams..

and keep Davis around until we can trade him away and take a less burning cap hit. also doing this will string Bush along to NFL speed and get his body use to NFL defenders..

1. QB Young
2. OT Winston
2. OT McNeil extra pick for Carr - also get Ricky Williams
3. SS Tamar Slay
3. Best TE still Available

Well, I understand that, but I could just as easily frame the debate this way:

Young + DD+Ricky Williams+1st or 2nd round pick Vs. Carr+DD+Bush
OR
Young+DD+J.Abraham+1st or 2nd round pick Vs. Carr+DD+Bush

Why don't people see it that way?

Because until any kind of deal like that is on the table it is only a pipe dream to try to justify taking VY.

If Kubiak was in the habit of lining his RB up as a wide reciever, then I'd be saying yes... Reggie Bush is a no brainer. But if we're talking about adding a page to Kubiak's playbook, then I'd rather trade the pick, than take REggieBush with the #1 overall.

Vince is a different story. If we take a QB #1 we'll be paying over $8million to see what he can do in the pros... If we pick up Carr's option, we'll be paying $8million + his salary to see what he can do in the pros....

personally, I'd rather let him go... even though he might be an all pro.... even though he may win multiple SuperBowls...... than pay him $8million + his salary to find out.

I'd let Ragone & Banks compete for the starting job and look to getting Vince in the game by week 12.

Because, we don't know what the other teams are willing to offer so saying a trade like this is much more complex and less likely to happen. Put yourself in Miami or N.Y.'s shoes would you make that trade? Furthermore it sounds like you want Carr to be traded in order to bring in Williams or Abraham in which case we would still take a cap hit for Carr. So your monetary equation would be Carr+Young+DD+ whoever you want to bring in Vs. Whatever.

Why don't you see it that way. lol, J/K don't take it the wrong way.

We will take a cap hit taking Bush or Young. Typically "wants" crush caps...I am thinking we "need" a lot more.

well if you ever watched the broncos when they clinton portis he would line up at wr 4-5 times a game so it's not like kubiak hasn't done that before. i really don't care who we draft becuase i think everyone can help us and we don't know who can help the most and won't know that question for three or four years. i can say that he we hire a coach that has been apart of one the greastest running attacks in the nfl and there is a guy like reggie bush it's hard for me to say don't take him. this was also a guy that took Jake Plummer to an afc championship game. he was able to reserect his career maybe we should keep david.

You guys are missing the point of the draft! We suck on the OL and all I hear is Bush and Young. I love VY am not impressed with Bush at that spot. But we don't need them until we get a line that can pass and run block. we need 2-3 linmen in this draft and should get the best available. The rubber meets the road in the trenches.:brickwall

We have a pick at #33 at which a top tackle can fall to. There a plenty of tackles available. Ferguson, Scott, Justice, Winston, etc. etc. There will be one at this spot. However our tackles aren't exactly the weak spot on our line, we have two picks in the third rd. where we could pick up 2 solid interior linemen, I hope they get Setterstorm and Enslayer, but Mangold is also solid. Two of these guys would go a long way in solidifying our line, however only tackles are taken in the first and since there are so many this yr. It is not exactly a desperate situation where we are at. Also, don't forget coaching will improve some of the guys we already have.
