People are always complaining about how long and drawn out NFL games are, and there is constant talk of trying to shorten it. This very telling Wall Street Journal info is from 2014............Things have only gotten worse

You've probably heard some stats about how little football you get to watch in an NFL game... but you probably haven't seen it in pie-chart form, and pie charts tell all. Pie charts are like pizzas you can't eat.

I'm not so sure the 11 minutes of game action is correct. On NFL Game Pass, in condensed version, where they cut out everything but the plays being run, it takes around 40-45 minutes to watch the full game. To be fair though, the penalties being called and replays of scoring plays are included in that, but it would still easily be over 35 minutes of action.

And they're probably only counting from snap of ball to the second you're down as game action, but I consider pre-snap part of the action as well.

I say I'd like to see a comparison with the so-called boring game of baseball, but I don't trust that analysis.

I personally don't have a problem with the length of NFL games. They're all usually right in that 3 hour - 3:15 range unless there's some major injury halting play. College games are a bit much. That UH game yesterday lasted an eternity.
