21 drops in 159 targets is a:

13.2% drop rate or an
86.8% catch rate

Fair enough. I did my rankings based on fit for the Texans, and I have both Nick Martin and Austin Johnson ranked higher than either Fuller or Shepard. I'm sure I'm alone here and that's ok. The discussion is good

Both are players I like that probably won't make it to the next round. But I have them a little lower than you.

I wasn't on Billings bandwagon (wanted Coleman or Fuller) in first, but can't tell you guys how many drafts I've coveted a true nose guard to really ramp up Texans 3-4 from Capers to Wade & now Crennel. So I'm flexible & would love this pick if it happens/available.

Bah shouldn't fret about Shepard as I really feel he will still be available in 2nd. Compared to Fuller he lacks the suddenness, catch radius & speed to seperate or take the top off, drawing safety help off Hopkins. This is key. But would upgrade in return game & fill in the #3 or #4 WR ( can Shorts stay healthy).

Long story short, so far, this is a dream draft for Texans. On too OL, TE & DE.

Reading around, it looks like ILB, TE, and Edge rusher were their big needs. They signed Jared Cook as a FA and we mocked Cody Whitehair, OG, to them in the first. What about a guy like Kamalei Correa to play OLB and rush the passer? Seems like a Capers type of OLB.

Analysis
Strengths
Well-built and twitched up. Has see ball, get ball traits to work with. Rarely fooled by backside bootlegs or reverses. Unleashed his impressive long speed and pursuit motor to run down a Utah State running back 51 yards down the field. Tackle finisher when he launches into target. Logged 19 sacks and five forced fumbles over last two seasons. As pass rusher, has explosion potential to create some edge panic with NFL coaching. Has second gear to chase from sideline to sideline.
Weaknesses
Seems to be more focused on getting out of the blocks quickly rather than gaining ground upfield as a rusher. Hand usage is inconsistent and unrefined. Doesn't use hands as weapons of victory often enough at the top of his rush. As NFL edge player, will have to play with more jolt and power in his punch. Play strength is just average. Lacks feel for down blocks and cracks and can be pinned down too easily. Will come flying to the ball at full speed and overrun the tackle.

Bottom Line
Correa will likely transition into a full-time 3-4 outside linebacker as a pro. While he doesn't have as much play strength as expected and is still raw as a pass rusher, NFL teams will be attracted by his quick-twitch athleticism and moldable traits as a pass rusher. The tape says Day 3 of the draft, but the upside could get him called earlier. He might require patience as there is still work to be done for Correa.

Exactly and not to mention AD is getting up there in age. Throw In an already top 10 defense now you have guys that can take some pressure of Peterson. This really balances out their offense. Yes there is still work to do on the OL. They need to get better at pass blocking but having more offensive weapons will help some and there wasn't exactly anyone available that was going to come In and start right away and make a difference there so give the young QB options and let them all grow together.

Other than Diggs Bridgewater really didn't have anyone who could get open or make a big play in the passing game. Now teams can't load the box which means more chances for Peterson to make big plays.

I think AD helps that defense more than anything. Having a back keep their offense on the field is what helps. I'm not a big Teddy B fan, though, so my opinion is biased. I don't think it matters what WRs you put around Teddy, I think he will be an Alex Smith type game manager. Mike Wallace was a 1000 yd receiver with a QB that had the arm and took chances and has since had to play with Tannehill and had even worse numbers with Bridgewater. Has Mike Wallace just become completely worthless? I don't think so, and I think his numbers will improve with another big armed QB that will take chances in Flacco.
