That Draft Vince Young Petition is Poison for the Team..

Okay we all should know about that whole draft Vince petition.. well i thought about it at work today and it it hit me..

This Draft Vince petition is nothing but poison for the team.. First of all the decision for what is better for the team should be left up to the people being paid millions to do so.. the GMs, the Coaches and etc..

Next like I have said before Vince has NO experience in a pro-style offense so it will take at least 3 years for him to even be accliamated to the NFL playing style. So are we really willing to wait 3 more years for our franchise to be competitive.. I dont think so.. after the 2nd season people were already talking about the cleaning the team and starting over from stratch..

Somebody stated that we should do what SD did and have 2 good QBs on the roster at the same time.. but due to good cap movement SD is able to do that and still have plenty of room to move around. With the salary cap thin ice that we've put ourselves in it wouldnt be a smart decision.. We resigned Payne.. who does see the feel very often and hardly contributes. (Who keep in mind i said that we SHOULDNT have resigned) and we also resigned Marcus Coleman who has been benched by a 5th and 7th rounders. (We I also said that we SHOULDNT have resigned) and then we went out a spent a boatload of money and a overrated OLB from a 4-3 and put him at ILB in a 3-4 how much sense that does that really make?? I'll go with none at all.

so we've made too many bad moves and having to VERY high paid QBs on the roster does nothing positive for the Team. Its not like we can have Carr starting the game and when the opposing defense wears down we put in Vince Young.. there is no change of pace QB.. now having a change of pace running back makes 10x more sense.

But anyway back to the subject at hand.. what happens.. when (and yeah i did say WHEN) Kubiak picks Bush, then those people who signed that dumb petition are gonna be mad they the picked Bush and those few somewhat Texans fans will dwindle and that equals less fans in the stands, less ratings and less support for the Texans.. then what happens.. player morale and motivation drops, we get bad performances and we are back at square 1. all because of a moron who doesnt know the first thing about professional football scouting pulling a piece of paper out of his butt and getting people to sign it.

Finally before i get outta here and let you guys have fun with this thread i'll ask you all this... Do all this draft vince promoters think that David Carr is deaf and blind?? do you think he doesnt know what 97.9 is?? do you think he doesnt know what HoustonTexans.com/Messageboard is?? what do you think it's gonna do to his pysche when he's been nothing but loyal and has be nothing but smiles for this franchise?? has he EVER gotten on TV and said you know what.. this team would be undefeated if we had Tomlinson?? or maybe you heard him say.. I want Chad Johnson cause my recievers cant catch?? oh wait I forgot.. he did say how much our defense sucked... NOPE he didnt.. Carr has been put on his back more than a prostitute on Bissonnet.. But he loves this team and he plays his heart out for this team day in and day out. And never pulls a TO or Ron Artest.

So what happens to his play when all the people and the city that he has been faitful too after 200+ sacks is now turning his back on him when he hasnt really had the best of coaching or the best O-Line to help his career out..?? what is that gonna do to him..

See as I said.. alotta of these morons signing this Draft Vince Petition out in Houston.. couldnt even tell you what a zone-read-option is or what a I-Formation was.. or what about a Nickle defense they prolly couldnt tell you that..

But if those people our there wanna poison the team by signing that Draft Vince petition.. then do so.. but Kubiak as already said that he like David Carr and believes that he will blossom in the type of offense that he runs so all you are doing is putting negativity in Carr's head and eating away as his leadership in the lockerroom therefore hurting the team..

Now i'm done.. feel free to say what you feel..

Great post, I agree 100%

Maybe there should be a "Don't pay attention to petitions" petition started.

That might help keep the Texans front office from getting confused.

Although I agree with your 06 draft, I think the petition is in good fun. People are rightfully excited about Vince Young and seeing him in a Texans uniform. I've been a David Carr fan from day 1 and I think he deserves another opportunity to succeed. Yes he has his problems but so does every player in the NFL and in every other sports. I think Gary Kubiak will use DC's strengths better than Dom Capers and company ever did. I think with a strong running game with Reggie Bush and Domanick Davis and good o-line protection, this team will be much better.

I really agree with that. Add to that list what the fans have already done to him, has any other teams fans poured beer on their QBs wife. I hate the ignorance ppl spit at me thinking that they're really fans. They say get rid of Carr and when asked for a reason all they can come up with is he sux or he's been sacked too many times. When confronted with actual information they just don't like him. It's messed up how some of the fans act towards their players.

That Vince Young petition really pisses me off, because even if the Texans did get Young the ticket sales aren't going to go thru the roof. It's easy to sign the petition, but what about supporting the team, they should buy a ticket as well as sign then I can guarantee that petition won't have as many signatures.

The thing that gets me is how easily ppl can be swayed. They don't even consider the players, all they see is fun and games or worse expect the petition to sway those in charge. None of them realize the disrespect they are showing their team. I like hip-hop as much as the next person, but I actually quit listening to 97.9 because of this action the station has taken.

I've always liked Houston, but this petition speaks volumes to me and saddens me. Our team deserves better and this should not be the way it is.
