Practice Squad
I feel sorry for the Texans..and thier fans...not only did the Front Office pass on Ferguson, who should have been thier pick from day 1..but they pass on Bush, and take Super Bustio Williams...

Worst move I can remember for quite some time...The D Line has the highest percentage of ''busts'' of any other position..and Williams was invisible for the first half of the season last year...bad, bad move on the part of Houston...

The point is..This move by the Texans gives the Saints sooo much more value for thier pick...I'm still in shock that the Texans actually made that pick...complete blindside...I hope the best for you guys..but I expect another top 3 pick for ya'll next year.

Come on over the saintsrevolution.com and chat it up with some saints fans if you want..most of us are going to be up very late in anticipation...

Thaks, but we felt you needed Reggie more than we did...... there's still a warm place in our hearts for you guys with that Katrina thing... president Bush blowing up that levee and all.

We tried to give you Vince, thinking you'll be in SanAntonio.... but then we got word that you'll be moving to LA, so we figured we'd give you Reggie.

Anyway, yall take care out there......... don't spend too much money on that stadium(good move getting W to pay for it) and enjoy your move....... I hear it doesn't rain out there.

The Saints aren't moving to L.A....or S.A....and they never were...Tags has made it publicly known that the Saints are staying put...

You guys can try to deflect on me..it's cool..but you can't sugarcoat the ignorant move the FO just made...in all honesty, not trying to be mean...dumbest move I have ever seen...maybe even dumber than us trading up to draft Sullivan..and that was horrible...be prepared fpr another top 3 Draft pick next year..I can promise you that's exactly where the Texans will be...

Having Williams out there does no good at stopping Carr from bieng scrambled like an egg on 50% of the snaps...

How was this a blind side? They have been talking to and about Williams for two weeks - people just didn't believe it.

Do me a favor...go look up Williams stats..game by game...and tell me again why it was a blinside...

Courtney Brown 2.0

Williams was invisible most of the year...came on strong late, and then had a great workout...but..don't fool yourselves guys..it wasn't his ''super ability'' that made the Texans jump...it was Bush's huge contract demands..He wanted a 25% increase from what Alex Smith got last year, and the Texans were only willing to go 7-8 percent more...Williams was the cheaper option...

Thanks from the Saints fans!!!

Thanks? For what? We should be feeling sorry for you folks for taking 30 years to finally win a playoff game. *COUGH*:loser*COUGH*

I wish your team well with Reggie (assuming you're FO is $mart enough to take him). Hey, you're in the NFC, so why not wish you luck. idonno:

Thanks for what?...oh..I don't know..adding extra value to an allready coveted pick...

And as far as the Saints taking so long to win a Playoff Game..Houston hasn't even been to playoff Game, or even been close...even though they're still young, you gotta go there before you can talk about it...

And as far as Bush not wanting to play for us..that's hogwash...Drew Brees and Bush have ALLREADY been talking on the phone, as reported by ESPN, and everything is going great on our end...

The ONLY reason Williams got selected is because Bush was demanding too much money in guarantees..that's it...it had nothing to do with Mario bieng a better choice..hell..Ferguson would have been a better choice..trading down and still getting Williams would have been a better choice..but selling out, and taking the cheap way out was a huge mistake..trust me..Tom Benson has done it several times in New Orleans, and it always ends up the same.

Do you honestly expect Williams to get more then 6 sacks this year?

How can Carr bring his game play up when He's constantly on his back?...I expect by week 8..you'll all be singing a very different tune...Drafting Williams with the 1st overall pick was the worst case scenario for the Texans..that's just the truth...however...it was the ''dream scenario'' for the Saints..now, we've got super leverage...We don't have to pay Bush in order to reap the rewards..he just had to be there..and now..HE IS!!!!

The Jets are calling non stop trying to trade up with us...the 9'ers, and Packers are also calling ...it's blue skies ahead boys..sit back and watch how it's done...

maybe next year when ya'll have a top 3 pick..again..you can get it right...

Too bad we don't get to play the Saints until next year. That alone would be a guarantee not to be at the top of draft again. The Texans will finish with a better record than the Saints and the Titans this season.

You're welcome! Hope you can afford him, though! :ok:

Promise to come back and visit if you "blow" the pick, too?

Actually, you're wrong. HOUSTON has been to, and won, plenty of playoff games. Our current franchise is only four years old, so give us a break. But I'll bet that we win a playoff game well before you probably win one again.

Well, that road goes both ways, buddy. There is no certainty that the Saints will ever rise above their bottom dwelling from season to season. :howdy: and that's Y'ALL, not YA'LL

ARe you serious?? were have you been?? Tags is out......... to be replaced by... Charley Casserly.... he just gave you Reggie Bush, do you think this is a coincidence?? :ok:

Anyways..... Let's not talk about playoffs, and records and whose the worse team........ this is a good day for both of us.

We made our defense formidable. Thoughts of Gary Walker wasn't exactly keeping QBs up at night....... Weaver didn't help that much either.

You're about to be the first NFL franchise to sign the player selected with the #2 pick to a contract equal in value to the player selected with the #1 pick.

So there...... we've both made history, & we both have something to feel giddy about..........

another round of champagne for everybodyyyyyyyyyy........... weeeeee

Geeez. Keep watching Sportscenter and listening to people like Mike Irvin.

If you're truly happy that you have a shot at Reggie, then just say so and go along your way. Once you start dogging Mario, it becomes apparent that you're just another pathetic troll trying to talk smack and stir the pot. Gotta love a trash talking Saints fan. Best of luck with your draft.

The draft is still not over and only Mario knows were he will end up. Or does he? There have been many sign and trade deals in the draft before, is this another? The Texans' brass seems to be content with their selection, and they know that Mario will have an instant impact. But is there another team at the top of the draft that covets Mario so much that they are willing to offer the "godfather" trade the media has forgotten about? If there was a team that felt the Saints were going to take Mario and would not be available when their selection came, they could get him through a trade. If Houston knew the pick they covet will slide to a later position, why not think of a trade?

Even if the Texans stay with Mario, which I think they sould, could the Texans still continue to make as much news in the draft? Charley Casserly said he will not "draft" a QB. Lets continue to pray the Texans have something up their sleeves. It would be nice to keep Mario and trade Carr to the team that drafts Vince. Of course we would have to throw in another pick, possibly one of our third rounders. Then we could use the second rounder on an offensive lineman and draft the best available players with the remaining picks. The Texans would become a playoff contender and regain the support of their fans at the same time.

Bob McNair stated that he wanted world wide recognition with his team. He wants his team to be on the same status of the NY Yankees. I know for a fact any team at that level makes big moves, so will the Texans? As a Texan fan I would pay twice as much for season tickets if they could pull it off.

We don't have to draft Bush to get value for him...as I said earlier, Just his presence on the Board gives us huge potential for a mega return on a trade down...Gotta think outside the box Lads...We don't have to touch Bush, or his overly inflated price tag..even if we did get him, we'd still get for for considerably less than what you would have paid for him...it's a win win for us...And the catbird's seat is once again on the #2 spot...

Again...my condolences..As a Saints fan, I've been there many a time...And will probably be there again..but not this day...This day we are untouchable...

The Saints aren't moving to L.A....or S.A....and they never were...Tags has made it publicly known that the Saints are staying put...

From The Washington Post
Said Tagliabue: "There have been similar reports over the past number of years about the Indianapolis Colts landing in Los Angeles, the Arizona Cardinals landing in Los Angeles, the Seattle Seahawks landing in Los Angeles, the Minnesota Vikings landing in Los Angeles. The last time I looked, none of them were in Los Angeles. . . . We're making every effort to keep the Saints as Louisiana's team."

However, even Tagliabue's closest advisers on the matter say otherwise. Tagliabue has appointed an advisory committee consisting of eight owners of NFL teams, and one of those owners said last week that the Saints could end up in Los Angeles.

The owner, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the deliberations, said "the league is trying to do the right thing" but is concerned that New Orleans might not make a full recovery, and added: "I would think L.A. is where we'd like them to go, but Benson wants to go to San Antonio. I really don't think he can go back to New Orleans."

And a President once said, "Read my lips."
And a Brutus once said," Pay no mind to the omens of mad men."

I guess you didn't see it when your team traded their entire draft for Ricky Williams...

Ok, I've been silently reading this forum for a couple of weeks, and this thread has finally spurred me into registering.

First off, Hello fellow Texans Fans, I'm glad to be among you. :)

Secondly, I believe it is downright rude for someone to come to a different teams fan-forums and stir up a heated conflict and vainly attempt to insult the whole community. Last time I looked both of our teams needed help this offseason, and both teams made moves. Now, you may not have been here for the last couple of weeks, just like most of us have not visited your websites and cared to know what happens to the New Orleans Saints. The feeling you feel for us is mutual, your an opposing team, we are not ment to get along and sing "So happy together" songs hand in hand. It is NOT happening.:pigfly: :homer: :twocents:

You are NOT making a point, and you are NOT insulting us or deterring us from being Houston Texans fans.

Now I understand, your fan-base may be suffering from a low population, but as you said, you have the #2 pick, and if your teams organization makes good moves your fan base will grow, its that simple. You going around trying to demoralize and corrupt other teams fan bases are not going to work, I for one am not going to be waving a Saints banner anytime soon, so you can stop advertising your "leverage"

We don't care, We ARE Texans Fans That will never change.

Oh yea, Go Mario Williams!

Good point Brandon, but dont get riled up from the majority of the NO fan base. Yeah most people are not going back there and it is pretty much half a city. They will be rebuilding for years, but luckily we like most Americans will begin to forget. They will enjoy there move, because they were not supporting their team before the Hurricane, damn sure wont now. So there are no real worries, dont get upset, they will likely be in LA soon.

First....9 yards a game AGAINST the weak Pac-10? Gimme a break. I can't wait to see what happens when a true NFL linebacker pops him going up the middle. If he couldn't run between the tackles in college, what makes you believe he will in the NFL?

Secondly......Brees played well in a great system in San Diego. His bum shoulder and no LT or Gates will unveil his true talents.......lack thereof.

Third.......the defensive minded division that you are in......Carolina, ATL, and Tampa Bay are licking their chops to go after Brees and Reg-gie.

Admit it......your Aints really need D-Brick to fend off those great defenses within your own division. At least our brass has the balls to draft out of need versus PR.

He actually isn't much of a return man, IMO.

Oh, and I'm sorry my first contribution to this community came in the form of a rant, I'm slightly ashamed:embarrass

But I'm too happy about this whole "fiasco" as some would view it. I don't really care :hyper:

Except that you already have about $50M invested in your running back and Reggie is certanly no sure thing. If I was the Jets or Pack, I would let you guys take Reggie, have your backfield worth $60M in your QB, $50M in your starting RB and another $50M in your RB #2/punt returner. You better enjoy those 12-15 touches a game, they are going to be worth about $1M each!

If that did happen the Saints would have to drop some good-pretty good players to make the cap hit and keep that backfield .... oh wait, its the Saints... they're dead.

Looks like the Saints can make a killing in a trade now. Mortenson said that the Titans want to trade up to the Saints spot. No word from the Jets, but that probably means they are very interested.

Your welcome Saints fans. :crying:

Good luck to you guys. I hope this can help the folks of NO move on to better times now. I would jump all over a chance to trade down and get some extra picks if I were you but it sounds like the FO really likes Reggie. I hope he can help turn things around for you and maybe some day it will be Mario vs. Reggie in the Super Bowl. I would be interested to see how many of your fans are for Reggie or a trade down since Hawk or Huff plus picks are your needs. Let us know how it goes.

I had to laugh at this post. I remember when Kris Brown shanked that kick, I was yelling, "REGGIE, REGGIE!"

If he would have made it, people on this board would have been saying.

"Had Kris Brown just had missed that kick against the 49ers, we would have Reggie Bush instead of the Saints. But Mario Williams is great defensive player and I'm excited that we got him. I can't wait to renew my season tickets."

That's just stupid...mocking the Katrina Tragedy..you should be ashamed of yourself...People DIED in that storm, and people are still suffering..but..if it makes you feel better about the Texans blowing thier 1st pick..go ahead..I'm sure all of America will be right alongside you...

I can't believe any Mod on any board, or it's Members would allow talk like that...shameful...

By the way..check the Season ticket sales for the Saints the last few years..NFL RECORD CONSECUTIVE SELL OUTS...hell check this Years..we're allready up 60% from last Year...

There's a story about it on the Official Site..or you can google it...but mocking the Katrina tragedy to make yourself feel better is the most pathetic thing I have ever read...

So now instead of us having the 70 million dollar backfield the GENIUSES in N.O. will have it.

After losing Lecharles Bentley.....a QB with a injured throwing arm. I guess ya'll do need two RB's.
