Texas should consider hiring a coach/recruiter.

Bye, bye Mack. And same goes for the AD Dobbs, time to go fellas. You've wrecked the Big 12, now apparently Mack has also wrecked UT football. Bye, bye.
Dobbs was a tremendous quartermiler in college at K-State and went on to be his alma maters head track coach and then several years as the AD there. So what does his background as a track guy got to do with his performance later on as the AD at 2 major universities including UT ?Dodds is getting a million $$$$ annuity after this yr. So I'm sure he will be retiring. Mack hoped to step into the AD job. That's not going to happen.
It's sad that a track coach (Dodds) was allowed to run a great athletic dept into the ground. If you think the football program is in bad shape, check out what Barnes is doing with the Basketball program.
UT would've been better off just giving Dodds his $$$$ 4-5 yrs ago. I wouldn't want to be the next AD at UT, and have to clean up the huge mess that Dodds created. He did make UT alot of $$$$$ during his tenure though.

I don't care if Dodds came from Mount Olympus, as a UH fan I'll be glad to see him gone.
I love Doss and Mack. They need to stay forever.![]()

Jameis Winston...
What do they all have in common?
Not good enough to play QB for Mac Brown...
2 of those QBs won a Heisman Trophy....
Mac Brown should have been gone 5 years ago....
Mack needs 17 wins to pass DKR as UT's all time winningest coach.
Barring a .500 season, he won't leave until that happens.
Of course it is, and it's had a storied athletic history in basketball though maybe not football. Apparently you didn't know but it's in the Big 12 which was at one time and for some time a major athletic conference, that is until UT managed to run top flight major universities/programs out of the conference like A & M, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, etc., so lately the Big 12 ain't looking so major league.Really, you're ok with a guy in a 2nd tier sport at a 2nd tier school running what should be THE preeminent sports power in the NCAA into the ground? (I know he's made UT alot of $$$$)
The only reason Doods became AD was because he was in the NCAA enforcement division during the late 70's early 80's. Why do you think SMU got the death penalty and UT got off scot free? UT was just as dirty as SMU and this comes from a long time Longhorn fan.
Other than that Dodds had no business running a prestigous program such as the Longhorns. Since you asked the question, tell me what were Dodds qualifications at the time he was hired?
K-State is a major university? We have a different definition of what a major university AD is, obviously.

Texas mangled the Big 12.
EDIT: Ah hell. I was just kicking sand and having fun. I see no joy in kicking a fan while he's irate. Apologies.![]()
No they mangled it. Yet now they cant rule their own mess
Agreed, but I'm trying to pick my spots a little better if I can...lol.
I am so SICK of that bull **** like those schools didnt have a choice in the matter and it was all big bad Texas fault. Bebe was a mess and the big 12 was at a geographical disadvantage and could not get a conference network put together. So Texas creates its own, as Nebraska AND A&M looked into same and would have done if they wanted or could.
The longhorn network is a mess.. if you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.
Thanks in part to UT, the Big 12 was a very strong conference with solid regional representation - that's a good thing. But now you've ended up with an abortion in regional terms with somebody from the EST zone like WV in the conference and a very watered-down group of teams compared to the previous membership. And that joke of a TV network UT has is the laughing stock of sports media - "ladies" volleyball all day long: gimme a break !I am so SICK of that bull **** like those schools didnt have a choice in the matter and it was all big bad Texas fault. Judging from its popularity amongst the fans, i doubt anyone can "see" anything.
Kind of redundant, I suppose if you're a crazy UT fan you must want it, and no-one else besides does.

Shouldn't Luck be added to that list too. They let him get away also.
And Andy Dalton, and probably Matthew Stafford.
Is David Ash hurt? I saw a few things around saying that he may or may not play against Ole Miss. If he doesn't play. . . that could be bad.
