As kickers continue to try to outdo each other, Texas Longhorns kicker Nick Rose has made it extremely tough for the competition.

Because not every kicker can boot an 80-yard field goal.

Rose recently took the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium to get some kicks in. While there, the senior kicker showed that he has more than enough leg to top his career long of 51 yards:

You can hear the wind in the audio. I wonder how strong that wind was that assisted the FG? It's sort of like my 435 yard drive on a hot day with a strong wind assist when I played a course in San Antonio years ago. The conditions were just right and I had a rare solid hit. But that was hardly something you can do on a normal day in normal circumstances.

Well, he missed two last year. And he was only 14/21 on FGs.

He hasn't been a very good kicker in his career up to this point, and distance has never been the problem.

Sounds exactly like A&M's kicker.

Not the one who left, mind, I'm talking about the guy from 2012 who cost us the Florida & LSU games. He's probably starting now that Lambo left, but there's a freshman who's hopefully better than him. We'll need all the FGs we can get if we intend on winning more than 7 games this year.
