Says Gil Brandt...

THREE WINLESS TEAMS WITH HOPE
Houston Texans

I see the Texans beating out the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC South title for a few reasons. First, no team has ever made the playoffs after getting off to an 0-2 start for a second straight season, as the Colts just did. Second, Houston is as good or better than Indy at every position other than quarterback. Signal caller is, of course, not a strength for the Texans, with Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer not providing anything more than mediocre play, but Bill O'Brien is one of the better coaches in this league, and I think he'll find a way to overcome that weakness.

The bottom line is, this team has talent everywhere else, not least in the form of defensive monster J.J. Watt, while the Colts have serious roster holes to deal with. Plus, running back Arian Foster should be back at some point to pick up the running attack. I like Houston's schedule, and I see the Texans taking this division with nine wins.

Wow, I heard Boomer Esiason say the same thing on one of his sports break segments on the radio today.
My first thought was that he had lost his mind.

this is long season. I know we have a lot of problems but only 1 game behind. texans can still work hard and get better. hope they can bring some long winning steak. I like to see glass half full.

I would like to think so but we're just too inept offensively for me to think it's realistic. This is a 6 or 7 win team at best.

right now they do seem like 6 to 7 win team, but they can get better. with some key players coming back with 1 game behind we still have chance. I believe we can get better as season goes on with players coming back from injury.

with some good improvement with key players back they may look like what we hoped since off season.

Yeah I'd say they had a chance. If they had a 2-0 record against Indy's 0-2 record. Usual Texans performance has them not capitalizing on the situation though.

Damn I guess I'm no longer the king of Texans koolaid, well this is unacceptable.

I have the Texans winning the Superbowl myself.....

To me...I get 2005 vibes all over again. Bad Oline, a bad QB, injury issues...mixed with a reasonably good but not as good as advertised defense and bad ST.

Hello, 2005 is calling and they want their football team back.

I really hope Texans can give us fans enough hopes this season so we can at least talk positive. <3
after following them since year 1 I am done being negative with Texans. just want to keep positive mind with this season. if we go 0-10 then I will still cheer for our young guys to develop for next year.

It's a good article but we can't discount the Titans and Jaguars. I think the Titans are going to be 2-1 after they beat the Colts on Sunday. The Colts will be 0-3. We may overtake the Colts this season but will that be for second or third place?

It just ain't a-gonna happen. The Hoosier Autoturds, with their "horrible" coaching, usually seem to make something out of nothing. And don't forget they have the officials bought and paid for. And if they don't, the magnificient Nashville Titans are standing in the way.
I'm pulling for the Tacks to win it just to keep the Indy Slime from getting it, since I know the Texans can't.

I'll be pulling for the Titans also. Nothing more demoralizing than losing to them. Then it would be a wet dream to see them fall to the Jags the following week, but I know, I know. More likely they will get even at 2-2. A guy can dream though.
