TEXANS VS JETS INJURY REPORT

CloakNNNdagger

Hall of Fame
HOUSTON TEXANS

Wednesday (11/18/15)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
ILB Akeem Dent Hamstring
WR DeAndre Hopkins Knee (new)
QB Brian Hoyer Concussion (new............symptoms improving, but definitely present..........in short week, would be surprised if he passes protocol by Sunday)
RB Chris Polk Hamstring

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
OLB Jadeveon Clowney Back (back injuries are a ***** and many times a season-long problem........re-injured trying to get back to practice last Wednesday.....now trying to comeback again.........better that DNP, but at this time, questionable for Sunday)
CB Kareem Jackson Ankle (trying to make a comeback, very limited today)
CB Johnathan Joseph Calf (new)

FULL PARTICIPATION
ILB Max Bullough Shoulder
DE Jared Crick Ankle (new.....from ankle last month)
CB Charles James Foot
C Ben Jones Thumb
K Nick Novak R. Thigh (so we get some even shorter KOs than last week)
ILB Brian Peters Hamstring
WR Nate Washington Hip

NEW YORK JETS

Wednesday (11/18/15)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
DB Dion Bailey Ankle (recent high ankle..........don't expect him on Sunday except as a spectator)
DB Dee Milliner Illness
DL Sheldon Richardson Hamstring (suffered last Thursday............don't expect him Sunday)
OL Nick Mangold Neck/Hand (neck injury sustained 3 weeks ago........negative CT scan and MRI..........still bothering him)
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Left Thumb (last Friday, underwent repair of ulnar collateral ligament tear of thumb on non throwing hand..........would not totally rule out that we see him Sunday)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION

DB Calvin Pryor Ankle (1 month post high ankle...........will probably still be compromised)
DB Darrelle Revis Hip (a sore hip today..............Revis said his hip injury is 'not very' serious.............If they make it onto the field, I see Revis and Hopkins hopping up and down the field hitting each other over the head with their crutches)
DB Antonio Cromartie Quad (2 weeks old, still questionable, but may join Revis and Hopkins in a crutch war)
WR Brandon Marshall Toe/Ankle (new ankle from last Thursday...........Marshal will compete for the last available crutch)

FULL PARTICIPATION
DB Dexter McDougle Hand/Ankle (lingering injuries)
DB Buster Skrine Shoulder/Hand (from a concussion to a 5th metacarpal fracture to a shoulder injury..............the slow receiver position has not agreed with him very well)
WR Eric Decker Knee (has been dogged by an injury sustained in week 2........has played through the injury throughout the season)
RB Bilal Powell Ankle (has missed last 4 games with lateral sprain.......will see how he does as he tries to regain his backup role)

Detail on Clowney's injury. He and O'Brien said they expect him back. #Texans RT @rapsheet: He had a badly bruised (& painful) tailbone.

I doubt seriously that his badly bruised tailbone was the main reason that Clowney has been debilitated and out. It has repeatedly reported, including by O'Brien, that he suffered a MUSCULAR back problem which was very painful. From the way the injuries occurred in the same game, the hip also had to be strained.

I don't buy that Clowney's tailbone injury is the significant contributor for him not being able to play........and it certainly isn't muscular A tailbone (coccyx) even when fractured can be treated for purposes of practicing with local anesthetic injections and padding. The sitting position is where pain is most felt. Of course this is a position that is not usually assumed on the field.............rather a position assumed only by those riding the bench.

What is worrisome for Hoyer and a factor which may play into a longer than usual period of time navigating through the protocol is the fact that his is Hoyer's 3rd concussion...........the 1 st in HS, the 2nd in college.

No Hoyer, no D-hop. The elation of the Bengals win is probably going
to be short lived, unfortunately.

Unless we can get some defensive scores, that is..

I took this post of Hervoyel's in the "Selection 2.33: Xavier Su'a-Filo OG" thread, and am placing my response here, since I feel it is appropriate to the subject.

Nobody does. The 2015 offseason, mini camps, and preseason were weird. Stories went out that Su'a-Filo was in the best shape of his life, Stories went out that he wasn't. Stories went out that Nix was a new man, then stories went out that he was the same sloppy bag of Play-dough he'd always been. Sometimes it really does feel like the O'Brien regime here in Houston is trying to outdo Belichick when it comes to keeping information from getting out and it borders on the crazy/paranoid. I mean, usually if Belichick doesn't want to tell you something he just won't say anything. He'll just stare at the reporter asking the question and then change the subject or say something completely non-committal. O'Brien and the Texans in general will flat out lie to you about it or make up some kind of bullshit story that doesn't hold up thinking it will.

I don't get it. They remind me of children telling stupid lies that everyone can see through sometimes with their attempts at misdirection.

The Texans as a whole do not want fans to figure out was is going on with anything. It's even worse that with Belichick and the Patriots. Even with the Injury Reports...............we are the only team in the NFL where the official team website does not have a drop down menu to allow fans to compare/follow the progression of different week's injuries.

Examples of the injury drop down menus by week seen on all NFL web sites (always near the top left):

Steelers

Patriots

We used to have these drop downs like every other team..........until O'Brien came in..........then the format was changed. I contacted the Texans Digital Media Director Eric Saninocencio last year to discuss this major change..........he acted dumb to the fact and assured me that he would look into it............it never happened................let the fans eat cake........the dumber the better............
