I just found out OJ Simpson's in Florida right now too. My chances for returning back to Austin safely have decreased.
 
You actually might be safer in Florida with OJ than in Austin with the UT football team.

My friend in Houston called me yesterday with a extra ticket to the game.....SOO I wont be at 3rd base sunday for I will be there live hopefully watching us hit 3-0

I will be on the Colts' side 13 rows from the field. I am usually in the aisle between sec 124 and 125 on the north side of the stadium. Look for the skinny kid flailing around with beer soaked people seated in a ten foot radius of me. What is great is that if we are winning they smile in spite of the spillage, if we are losing they do not seem like to have beer spilled on them. Winning does cure all.

ATRAIN, Just look for a guy who's got his eyes glued to his laptop and you'll find Kasier Toro. He'll be running stat line talk to the people around him.:doot: DUDE! WATCH THE FREAKING GAME!

Sure was great to have KT around last week and he'll be missed but I think I'll bring MY laptop this time around and make up for the loss of KT albeit I won't be as devoted as he was. I like to scream nonsense. Constantly. All the way until the game clock hits zero.

I was very surprised that I did not spill one drop of the nine Guiness drafts, that the waitress made me drink, on my laptop or onto Rockabilly, Mr. White and Barrett. However, the near miss with the 42'' plasma on another Texans First Down was disconcerting.

I just found out that I might be in a 50 yard line seat at Reliant thanks to a generous member of this board. If that is the case I obviously won't be at 3rd Base. If something with that changes I will be at 3rd Base.

Rick's Wife was sick, so I was playing man-to-man coverage on The Boy. I wanted to be there, felt like I was missing out.

An L is an L, but I really feel encouraged by comparing this loss to losses BS (Before Schaub). Down 13 in the fourth quarter, and I still felt like we were in the game! And this, without AJ, Green, and Dayne. But I'll stop here, as I don't want to hijack a Austin watch party thread and take it off-topic.

So...talk to me: how were the specials? How many came out? How was the mood?

Sorry I didn't make it either. However I can't say I regretted sitting in 50 yard line club level seats today.

The specials were good !The crowd was a little less than usual but still a very good turnout.The day manger was pleased with the tunout and hopefuly we can bring it for the rest of the season.
I hope to see everyone next Sun.

It was great once again! The crowd was significantly smaller. You could just tell although I thought that there were more Texan fans spread out over the whole bar rather than bunched up in the backroom like last week. I don't know how many but I'd put good money on it that there were at least fifty of us there.

The mood was great! As I was walking in, Mathis was hustling his butt down the field for a TD on the opening kickoff. We cheered all the way to the end and it didn't seem like that anyone left until the clock had expired. Schaub didn't give up and neither did us Austinites.

I don't know about the drink specials. I lost my bank card and had to drink soda because I only had seven dollars on me. Oh well. For what it's worth, they didn't even charge me for the sodas so I just gave the waitress the whole seven. She earned it, that's for sure. Third Base is great. Alas.......

Personally, I think I'm going to stop attending the games at Third Base. They can't get their closed captioning problem situated and that just sucks for me. I really need to be able to understand what the announcers are saying. Don't get me wrong, the manager of Third Base bent over backwards this week and last week. Their TVs just don't work very well with Directv and today we were not able to get the closed captioning on at all. It's a shame because I really enjoyed being out there with you guys.

Maybe Ricky would be willing to give me the GM's email address and I could maybe approach him and see if we can just get it fixed. I really don't want to scream and yell all by myself at another bar. I want to be with Texan nation.
 
The shame of the close captioning is that it was on for the late game .So I think whoever gets there early if we can remind 3B to enable the CC that may help.The one big problem is 3B needs to use white or yellow so the CC can pop off the screen, Last week they used grey that was washed out by the CBS scoreboard and yesterday they used a blue that at times would be hard to read.:texflag:
 
I had a great time at 3rd Base this weekend. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming.

My friends and I absolutely plan on coming back for more next weekend.
 
I was pleased with the showing, since it was on tv locally although I wish more people would stand up and not support PinkEYE 42!
The staff was perfect I brought my 8 yr old daughter and she was well taken care of and well attended to. Kudos to the staff and Lara or Laura!
Nitro, you cant go, you would be terribly missed and it wouldnt be the same.
Why not go down during the week and work with the staff and see if you can get it done?
I did my usual rounds of the room and there were lots of new people there also, so thats promising too.
Think of what we can do with all the new ones and the season tix holders who werent there and the ones that were just plain lazy and stayed at home.
Lets rock the joint this week again and make it 3-1, like we never have done before!
As a side note I will have to go to Dallas for a family weekend but will still run the frontline with the usual wed email and thread, and the friday subsequent roll call.
Ricky and Spec y'all gotta pick up the slack!
