Texans mock without trades

1) RB Reggie Bush, U.S.C. (If there is one thing the texans offense has lacked since it first season, besides an offensive line. Is a playmaker in the backfield. And Bush can make a play anytime the ball is in his hands.)

2) OT Daryn Colledge, Boise St (At 6'5'' 300lbs Colledge is the prefect size for a zone scheme like the one Denver uses. He is a smart player who always finishs his blocks and is a beast in the weight room.)

3) G Mark Setterstrom, Minnesota (Since it looks like the team is going to drop almost all the guards on the team, might aswell take one that helped his team become the nations leading rushing attack.)

3) TE Joe Klopfenstien, Colorado (The anserw to the team TE problems will come in the 3rd round, Kolpfenstein not only is a willing blocker but can catch almost amy ball thrown his way.)

4) S Dwayne Slay, Texas Tech (I hear people talking about this guy and thought it was all hype. But after seeing him play, I'm a believer. He can do it all and is the hardest hitter I have ever seen playing safty recently.)

5) LB Leon Williams, Miami (Since the texans don'y really have a MLB, Williams could become the starter in a couple of years, he is fast, strong and has good instints.)

6) CB Josh Lay, Pittsburgh (This is more of a developmental pick Lay has some ability, but under a coach like Hoke, he could develop into a decent player.)

7) G Aaron Lips, Louisiana Tech (As I said before, there is going to be a house cleaning done at the guard position, Lips is the type of lineman that thrives in the denver scheme. He is tough and smart, and is a few years could become a starter eventually.)

he can definitely hit, thats a pretty bold statement with guys like sean taylor and troy polamalu in recent drafts.

Sean Taylor wasnt a hitter, he could hit, but not like Slay. Taylor was a ballhawk. A slightly better Ko Simpson.

I think this whole "playmaker" thing is way overblown. How many times did LT score TD's longer then 50 yards? What about Shaun Alexander? Just because he can outrun the D dosnt mean he can get behind the D. If we are counting on having the ability to break a big one as our O, we are going to as inconsitent as they come. On the other hand, the one thing pass protection gets you is consitency. If we have a stable O line, not great, but not horrible, it will help tremendously. People seem to think speed is the end all and be all of football, in Madden, that holds true, however, there is more to the NFL then being faster then the guy chasing you.

seems like a decent Mock Draft for the Texans, I'm assuming that Colledge would start right away at the LG position & leave Pitts @ LT. that gives us two starters including Bush from this draft, the others will have to adjust and develop, maybe Klopfenstien can fit right in I do think he has a nice upside to his game but for the most part your picks do not have a high ceiling so I'd like to see more talent :twocents:
