Texans | Molden to work out for team

Josh Buchanan, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports University of Eastern Kentucky CB Antwaun Molden will hold a private workout with the Houston Texans.

This looks to be the first guy in the draft that we have a visit scheduled for. Anyone know anything about the dude?

Actually, it's not a visit. A private workout has to be scheduled at the players facility. And I'm not sure how private it will be, as the link you provided has the Eagles also working out Molden.

Molden measured over 6' at the combine, and ran right around 4.4 in the 40. He also ran track at Eastern Kentucky. Molden played in the Texas vs. the Nation allstar game. Maybe someone saw that and has an impression?

one time considered a sleeper pick, until he started blowing up (Texas vs. The Nation all-star game practices in El Paso). also had a solid combine -

Molden, Antwaun Eastern Kentucky, 6-1 198 4.39(40) 2.55(20) 1.43(10) 23(reps) 37 1/2(VJ) 10'09"(BJ) 4.14(shuttle) 6.85(three cone) all excellent #'s a solid canidate for the Texans 3rd selection :)

With those numbers, I'm still not sure why Molden is still only projected to go in the 3rd or 4th round. Is there something I'm missing? Level of competition maybe?

His stats per nfldraftcountdown.com. Doesn't appear to be much of playmaker, didn't really put up solid numbers until last season.

That sight has him ranked #14 and a solid 4th round but maybe moving up. I'm tracking the guy right behind him Tyvon Branch 6' 204 4.31. I don't see using a 3rd for Molden. We could get Chevis Jackson or Charles Godfrey in 3rd and Godfrey's 2nd position is FS.

Wow that is very good for a corner. I havn't seen him play but I love his size!

What about a guy who is actually named Corner?

J.J. Pesavento, of Next Level Scouting, reports the Houston Texans are showing some interest in Akron CB Reggie Corner.

Texans are just being safe & covering the bases. would not surprise me at all if they take more than one db if they find value on the 2nd day with an Antwan Molden or Reggie Corner

I had a post somewhere saying possible for Texans to get several DB in draft especially if we get a two.

1st: Stewart RB 2nd: Sam Baker LT 3rd: Godfrey CB 4th: Tyvon Branch CB/FS/KR 6'0 204 4.31 5th: Gary Guyton OLB 7th Darnell Terell CB/FS

The Chronicle has the 18th pick written in ink for cornerback, but db coach Jon Hoke in the HT.com video talks about how there is value lower in the draft that they can coach up.

just as long as the coaching up experiment isn't like Phillip Buchanon's

I thought Pbuc did pretty well after leaving Texans? Is that not correct?

Pbuc tried to get cute and go for ITs and not knock ball away imo. Too many times he was not even close to WR.
