Teddy Bridgewater traded to the Saints for 3rd round pick

Living here in Tampa Bay I can’t believe the Bucs didn’t offer the same, which will probably end up being a better 3rd round pick than what the Jets will get from the Saints. Bridgewater would have been a big upgrade over Fitz to start the first 3 games due to Winston’s suspension. Bridgewater would also have been a much better insurance policy if Winston continues to be a problem off of the field.

He couldn't go to a better place.

Worst case scenario, Teddy learns under Payton/Brees for a couple of yrs and then takes over for Brees. Best case: Teddy signs on with a new team and gets a starting job next offseason. Win-Win

Teddy could still very well end up as the Bucs starting QB next yr if Winston doesn't get it together.

His name is Tom Savage.

Rumor has it the Patriots may trade for Savage now. If any luck, that happens, our ferocious defense will knock out an aging Tom Brady in the first quarter of our Week 1 matchup. And then we'll get to tee off Tom Savage the rest of the game.

Maybe I think too highly of the guy, but a 3rd round pick is not a high price for a guy that could end up being your franchise QB. IMO he's a major upgrade over Bortles. The big question of course is if his knee holds up.

Yup, UFA 2019.

I think so, he signed a 1 yr deal with the NYJ's.

I dont think there was a 1 yr option. Player/Team

Saints have said that Savage had a pretty good camp. He will be a cut victim b/c of the Bridgewater signing. Patriots will get him as a FA.

Texans said Savage had a good camp last year too. Matter of fact, his camp was so good he was "clearly the better option to start".

Problem is, when he real games start and all those defenders are doing un-camp like things.
