Makes sense. I remember he was here a few years ago on our 90 man roster. I think he got cut when we went to 53 and ended up with the Patriots. Several people were impressed with him in the preseason.

Between this news & the potential of re-signing Donnie Jones, the disappointment of losing Quin, Casey, & Barwin is almost an afterthought! Go Rick Go! It makes paying for those season tickets soooo much easier. Lol!:splits:

Makes sense to address cheaper options via free agency so you can draft the more expensive ones via draft. Maybe it's not as sexy or generates the buzz but in this era of salary cap it makes good sense :money:
 
This guy could be money in short-yardage / goal-line situations. Wouldn't be against this signing at all.
 
Was that a replacement ref in the clip posted by srrono?

He stepped two feet out of bounds and the ref right there just lets the play continue. Ha ha ha ha! Awesome.
 
This would be a useful signing. Gotta be able to run in the red zone successfully specially for this offense.

Yeah... that's true. But it would nice if we had a HC & QB who new how to take advantage of a MLB weak league. if only we had two Owen Daniels, a hybrid FB & maybe a freaky dynamic HB .

Maneri was rated 22nd out of 62 TEs overall by ProFootballFocus in 2012 for TEs taking >25% of team snaps.

He was 10th run blocking and 12th in pass blocking.
 
If we sign Maneri, we have the luxury of cutting a swing tackle like Gardner if he doesn't improve enough to keep on the roster. That is if we want to save a roster space for another spot; we could carry a 4th TE and a FB.
That means we only carry 3 OTs. Possible? Or too risky?
 
Kubiak is pretty poor at using role players/back ups.

Doesn't pick his spots well and mis uses guys. Kubiak can pick up all the little role players and back ups with specialized skills that he wants to...won't matter...
 
I am little shocked that we have actually (and semingly legitimate) Steve Maneri takes on this board.

We got Supernaw and Bryne on roster as well 76. For FB, I think we are giving Clutts a chance to start.

Supernaw and Byrne both can be cut anytime.
They haven't done anything except in practice.
If the coaches like them, fine; but none of us knows what to expect from them.

With Newton coming off of " major" knee surgery, and Gardner anything but a question mark, we better not go into the season with only 2 1/2 OTs.

If we keep on rotating the OL this year like we did last year, the OL will continue to be left with no continuity.........an eventual death knell for a ZBS.

Perhaps you were trying to be funny; I don't think anybody expects Maneri to be the greatest signing in the off-season (even if he ends up having a good-great season.)

Some of us think that a blocking TE is a good piece to have in this offense.
We didn't have a lot of success against Chandler Jones and Ninkowski on the edges last year, especially without Graham.

Depends on who's available, who we're targeting. I really want to keep that 4th, could we go 3rd, 5th, and 6th for a mid 2nd? Maybe throw in a player or cheerleader to sweeten the pot.
