These players were projected by NFL Draft Scout in these rds or later. I will give 2 picks per RD One of them should be there when we pick. I will put the one I like the most 1st.

Rd1 Taylor Mays USC S Fast Hard hitting S we have always needed.
Vontae Davis ILL Fastest player in the draft can play CB-S somewhat of an attitude risk but the most talented all-around DB in draft

Rd2 Sintim LB VA. SAM that can drop down & rush the passer on 3rd down
Matthews LB USC playmaker can rush passer, USC best LB IMO

Rd3 Brace BC DT Big run stopper we've been lacking
J. Gilbert SJ St DT-DE Underrated I believe he can be pass rusher opposite MW & can play UT if we drop down a LB on 3rd down

Rd4 R. Johnson S ALA. Fast playmaking FS
E. Cook S South Car Hard hitting S dropped because Character concerns

Rd5 A. Parker G Tenn Can run fits ZBS like a glove
A. Kemp see above steal in the 5th
Rd 6 G.Johnson RB Colo St Big RB shifty good @ goal line & 3rd & short
Rd7 M. Rolle S Fla ST S Could be a steal if he decides to play once he finishes Rhodes Scholar
Chris Miller P Ball ST Great Leg can challenge Turk

Let the bashing begin

who knows which prospect the Texans target or whom will be availabe when for sure? but it does say alot about who you like & where you feel they might be selected, afterall thats what a persons mock (that they name after themself) is all about.

1) have no problem with Mays or Davis.
my pick now that he has declared is Penn State DE Aaron Maybin.
2) Sintim would be a solid pick. I like Clay but not this high, late 3rd maybe.
my pick DE Greg Hardy Ole Miss value/depth to Texans, underclassman.
3) Brace would be a great pick in 3rd. Texans should address DE early.
my pick Jeremiah Johnson, RB Oregon. Steve Slaton clone.
4) Cook/Johnson nice 4th round picks, likely already selected.
my pick unheralded North Carolina Safety Trimane Goddard
5) Anthony Parker is a good guard prospect. don't think much of Kemp.
my pick Antoine Caldwell, Alabama can play Center/Guard
6) Gartrell Johnson RB this late would be great pick
my pick P.J. Hill RB Wisconsin, brings some beef in short yardage situations 5-11 236
7) Not a bad rolle of the dice to take a chance on him I suppose this late?
my pick Mitch King DE Iowa high motor, hard worker solid depth guy
8) Chris Miller, punter? plenty of kickers undrafted free agents
my pick Sha'reff Rashad Safety Central Florida 6-0 195 good speed/athlete

I like both of yalls drafts, there's some good choices up there. The only pick I really don't like is Beerlovers 1st round selection of Aaron Maybin. He's got lots of talent, a good motor, and potential but I see him as a project because of his weight and think that he's coming out to early. He's way underweight and at his size I think he'll project as a 3-4 OLB instead of 4-3 DE.

difficult to project, all I know whenever watching Penn State Maybin was easily the best player on the field, even against USC he's that good. I beleive he stands up on Sundays plays OLB intially, learns to read defenses before posting low, is flexible enough to hold up strongside or weakside, instinctive blitzer thats difficult to block. it would take a small miracle if 14 teams passed on his services. he is one of the few prospects in this draft I would not trade out of for more picks. you don't pass up talent like Aaron Maybin because of projections (he could easily grow into his 6-4 frame & be speed rushing DE) he is that proverbial bpa, measureables @ combine will turn heads in one month you'll see.

What number did Maybin wear for Penn State? Because if he was number 18, I would look at him. 18 is a player.

same # as DeMeco, Navorro Bowman is #18 rated #1 OLB in 2011 class, he could come out early next year.

Thanks. Maybin is a dynamic player, I just dont know where the Texans would put him. He is very light for a DE, and I dont think he has played any OLB. Could be wrong though.

Bowman is now my favorite for next years draft.

Paul Krueger just declared for the draft.

What rd. do yall think is going to get drafted?

I could see us taking Maybin & playing him @ the WILL & letting him rush the passer on 3rd down.

If we could draft Krueger in the 2nd we would have a great pass rush. I am very high on Krueger as a pass rusher. Imagine Maybin & Kruger rushing off the edge & Mario & Amobi pushing the pocket from the inside on 3rd down. WOW what a pass rush.

Krueger reminds me of a young Jared Allen.

I'm not sold on Mays, but I can't argue the logic or position there; solid pick. I like the LBs you chose in round 2 (even if that's too high for Matthews), but I don't think we should draft either because they will be 3-4 OLBs. I like Brace and Gilbert, although I tihnk Gilbert will be a DT at the next level (probably another 3-4 player). Solid pick in round 4, curious as to why you have us picking two safeties so early. Solid pick in round 5 and 6, although I think Johnson goes in round 7 or as a UDFA. Scratch Rolle as he's going to Oxford, but I like the idea of drafting a punter to challenge Turk.

Thanks for responding

The reason I would like to see two S drafted is because we need more speed @ the S position & if we can get value in the 4th rd. that makes the pick that much better. Gilbert is a high energy guy. If he can play DE that would be great but he should be a real good UT if he cant play DE. This is why I had us picking two LB's that can rush the QB on 3rd down by putting their hand on the ground @ DE.

I like Johnson to compliment Slaton & probably took him a rd. higher than he should go but if their is a player out there that Smithiak likes it's better to take him a rd early than risk the guy getting drafted by another team.

Most of these players are good character guys & you know how much of a premium Smithiak puts on character.
