The Texans should be picking in the 22-30 range.
Rd.1 Brandon Thompson, DT/NT, 310 LBS,5.04Clemson- Thompson is a run stuffer who gets very good penetration into the backfield. His only knock is that he doesn't play hard every down. (How many big DT's do?) This is the only reason he falls on draft boards.
Rd.2 Traded along with a 2013 2nd rd pick for Matt Flynn, Flynn is a more mobile version of Schaub. His arm is stronger than Schaub's. He also has looked very good in limited time that he's played. Mike McCarthy speaks very highly of Flynn. I dont think Schaub will ever be as effective as he's been in the past. When your not mobile to begin with and you suffer a significant foot injury Schaub is no longer a fit in this offense.
Rd.3 Nate Potter, OT/OG 6'6 298, 5.18 Boise St.- Potter has great feet, he's tall athletic large framed kid. Knock on Potter is he needs to gain strength. A developmental OL. You will have to wait on Potter to gain weigth/strength for a couple of yrs. But the wait will be worth it. IMHO
Rd.4 Jarius Wright WR/5'10, 180 LBS, 4.34 Arkansas- Wright is one of my favorite WR's in this draft, Good hands, great speed, Wright is a perfect slot WR. (I also like AJ Jenkins alot but dont think he will be there)
Rd.5 Rishard Mathews, WR 6'1, 215 LBS, 4.54 Nevada- Matthews is a big, fast playmaker. He's a big play guy who has made alot of big plays. He was Kaepernicks favorite WR last yr. He's having another big yr this yr. Former JUCO guy who falls only because of lack of playing against big time competition. Make no mistake thiugh this guys a stud.
Rd.6 Jerry Franklin ILB 6'1 245 LBS 4.6 Arkansas- Franklin is the leader of the Arkansas defense. He's active, and a little undersized. He reminds me alot of Sharpton.
Rd.7 Taylor Thompson DE 6'6 287 LBS 4.85, SMU- Thompson is a hard working playmaker, He's got great length and strong hands. Thompson is a bit of a project. But he's got the god given ability, he just needs to gain weight/experience.
These projections/weights/times were based off of NFL Draft scout rankings.
