Sources for Draft 411

I thought I'd do a thread to get people's opinions of the various draft related resources out there.
What are some of the more highly regarded internet sites/sources that do draft coverage?
Also, what are some of the least regarded sites/sources?

I haven't ever really been a follower of the draft as a whole. Like many fans, my draft knowledge is pretty much limited to the bigger names and/or players from larger programs.
I'd like to try and educate myself a bit more this draft season, so that I don't embarrass myself around here...

p.s. If we can leave Kiper completely out of this thread, I will be pleased... and surprized! :)

Well, I like Nflcountdown.com http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/

They update, have good bios and information on the players. They provide links to things like depth charts. They give you their take on what the different team's needs are. They even offer links to other sites. I prefer that to most of them. Just my opinion. I know Mel K. uses it.

I too use www.nfldraftcountdown.com.Has alot of info on most of the prospects.
The above mentioned is good. So is:
HuddleReport.com $$$
OurLads.com $$$
NFLDraftBlitz.com Free
DraftAce.com is OK Free
QISports.com Free
EastCoastSports.com Free

There is a million over on www.hailredskins.com. Just click the "Mock Database link and it will take you over to several free sites.

There are some really good pay sites out there but I've not visited them. There is a poster named MorKnolle on here who I believe is an advocate for a couple of them. Shoot him a private message and I'm sure he'll hook ya up.

You can't leave Kiper out,he's like the godfather of the Nfl draft!Thats like leaving John Madden out of the Hall of Fame. :club:

CBS Sportline has a lot of info that can give you an idea of players to look at.Nfl.countdown has info and links but you can also get info out of ESPN college football.I like finding unkown talent that isn't on the radar...:spy:

Here are some sites I found particularly useful/interesting:

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/
This site has pretty good profiles up on most of the top guys, although some of their heights and weights are off by a decent amount and I'm not sure how accurate their 40 times are.

http://www.ourlads.com/DraftAverages.html
An interesting page that has the average heights/weights/40 times and other info for all the 1st round picks since 2000 at each position. Their site also has depth charts and rosters for the NFL teams and info on past drafts, but not any prospect profiles.

http://www.nflcombine.net/
The official site for the Draft Combine, not much info up other than their schedule and list of players invited. I don't know if they will publically publish any info on the guys after they go thru drills.

http://www.draftdatabase.com/
This site doesn't have a whole lot of profiles but has most of the top guys. I think their profiles are done pretty well but are still missing some info on guys. They also have a list of all the draft picks that have been traded thusfar.

http://www.fantasyfootballjungle.com/y/nfl-draft/positions/top100.php
This website allows people to fill out their own 2-round mock drafts and averages all the draft positions for each player and reports those along with their hi/low spot. The mocks are done by fans not "experts" and many mocks are obviously bogus and done just to knock certain guys around in the ratings, but there are still some legit mocks and the averages balance out pretty well. That is an interesting site to check out and submit your own mock if you want, I've completed about half of one but haven't finished it yet.

http://www.hailredskins.com/MockDraft.htm
This website has links to a ton of mock drafts if you are interested in looking thru a bunch of those. Many of them are kind of quirky but some are worthwhile and it's still interesting to see so many varying opinions.

http://condraft.com/valueboard.php
This site has some player profiles rankings that aren't done real well. They have a list of guys by position and what round they think they will go in, but their rankings on that seem to be somewhat outdated, but it's still interesting to see.

could some1 please tell me how to bookmark this thread or is that possible

Edit-got it. anyway about.com do decent mocks

I use thehuddlereport.com, ESPN Insider (Pay sites), nfldraftcountdown.com, nfldraftblitz.com, gbnreport.com for information on prospects. Sometimes I use a little KFFL.com for news stuff.

You can't ignore Kiper. He's consistently one of the best mocksters (as far as projecting reality) - people blow his errors out of proportion. Getting 24 or 25 right per round is incredibly good compared to well, just about everyone.

I use the other teams official message boards or the biggest message board I can find if they don't have one (warning, you need a BSometer for this approach) and the above to establish the needs of non-Texan teams.

I use hailredskins.com's Mock Draft section to find out how dumb people are when I need a good laugh :)

I also like nfldraftcountdown.com.

But another great source is Football Future http://www.footballsfuture.com/.

Not ony does footballs future have great draft insite and very long prospect porfiles, they also have all the updated info on free agency and a plethora of Mock draft links.
