I hope this is sarcastic - cause a bunch of drunk morons starting fights is not my idea of fun.

Our tailgate was fun and full as usual!

Though some of the folks had quite a walk to get into the lot despite parking 100 yards from where we tailgate.

Blue Crew was awesome as usual. It was quite a walk to get there, but well worth it. Thanks to all of you.
 
It did not suck at all! We had a full group, short lines to RR, no drunks fighting, and no cars driving up and down the first row after 9am! I LOVE THE NEW TAILGATING RULES!
 
It was normal tailgating. There was less walk up traffic for sure but it did not affect the true tailgaters/fans that have always been out there.

The dallas game was a one game ordeal and the Texans should have prepared for it.
 
The only suck part of yesterday was that the team sucked it up pretty much. The fans were there, the Gr8fans were there, the seats were full and the Team did not show up, Dissapointing.

I thought the tailgating was "back to normal" and I loved it. Sorry for the folks that had a long walk, but, now that we know about that, we'll just be ready to car pool.

BUT, if you're like our dear BILL, you'll have to get your butt out of bed and be ready to PARTY on time!!!!
 
I've been at every tailgate except two since 2002. I thought the Giants game tailgate was great.

Now did they all have game tickets or just tailgating tix? Were some able to stay behind or did you have to wrap it up by gametime? Still trying to see what it is the Texans are trying to accomplish.

The Texans are trying to stop people from buying three parking passes on eBay, then inviting 100 friends / family / fellow gang members / etc. to come down and join them for an all day drunk fest in the parking lots of Reliant Park.

Mission accomplished.

How come they changed how people entered the gate at Budweiser plaza?

I also fail to understand the logic of not being able to enter any gate at the Reliant complex if you have a ticket to enter the game.

You could have phrased that a better way. I didn't tailgate but when I got there the mood just seemed different. They can ban tailgating all together and it wouldn't bother me at all. Big groups like the blue crew will be intact but some of the other groups will break up and this is no longer going to be the #1 tailgate NFL city. I do feel bad for some of the large groups that didn't buy seasons tickets but bought parking passes only to tailgate.

Not the point. I shouldn't be punished for what time I show up! I should be able to show my ticket and walk through whatever entrance I choose. Making me walk, way out of my way is bull shite!!!

Through all of my whining this is my point.

I'm upset because a long time tailgaiting buddy of mine and I didn't get to do our usual tailgaiting. Because of the Texans overreaction to a problem. IMHO

Typical of the Texans org to over react.

If the Texans keep this policy they better start putting a better product on the field. Or this isn't going to turn out well for the Texans.

I know and your right, but it is what it is! I know there were alot of good people that have to suffer because of this and that sucks. The mood did feel a little different, I think with time the good people will find a way to make it back and the people who don't know how to act in public (trash) can stay away and everybody wins.

The reason for the 8:30 is to keep people out of the mad drive into lots.

I'm trying to argue that keeps our folks out until 1.5 hours after it opens.

Maybe let people into Platinum only like 7-7:45?

Cool well let me know if you accomplish that goal. Also if you don't are the cops going to let us cross the street to get to the gate before 8:30. Example if we get to hotel and park at 8 can we make our way over to the gate so that when 8:30 comes around we can go ahead and come in?

Yes, but it is a matter of WHERE they'll let you cross.
 
One good thing that will come out of the new TG policy is ...there are a lot of season tickets holders without parking passes so I am pretty sure they can get one next year.

We had like 4-6 people stay out while the rest went inside to see the crappy game. So yes the Texans accomplished what they wanted to do in our eyes. Limit the number of tailgaters outside during the game. Also we have never had a problem at our tailagate and some people on this board can tell you how much fun we have!!

...and sadly those outside may have had a better time than those of us who watched the train wreck...
