So are you trading the first pick?

From the Texans prospective, I agree. From Atlanta prospective, though, they will probably have to include their 3rd rounder to get a deal done if they want Clowney. They are competing with Buffalo and possibly Cleveland for the #1 pick, after all.
Cleveland can offer two firsts and two thirds; that is sweet.

I will be so glad when today is over with and we have something new to argue about. This draft speculation is starting to get on my nerves for some odd reason, but it's all I'm thinking about today.

And don't tell me that doesn't make any sense, because it does. To me. LOL

Me too thorn. But what all this speculation says is what many have been saying already, this new FO with O'Brien is very tight lipped. That's why this draft has been so intruiging, no one knows what the Texans are doing and that is pretty abnormal for the 1.1 so close to the draft looking back at the last several years.it makes tonight that much more fun

How is it any different in that regard than the last regime ?!

Kubiak said next to nothing.

O'Brien says next to nothing.

If either speak , its just "coach speak."

Acting like there have been groundbreaking changes within the organization is an over reaction.
Hell , I expect the offense to operate much the same (cept for the muddle huddle and no sense of urgency when the clock is short & the team is behind).

The biggest difference I expect is defensively and it has little to do with O"Brien and everything to do with Romeo Crennel.

Well with Kubiak, we knew were were drafting every TE in the draft.

Easy, the last time we had 1.1 we signed the guy the night before. Plus I am speaking for the draft excitement. You are brining up things I didn't even mention. I'm not acting like anything groundbreaking has happened in the organization. They were just not quite this tight lipped is all

Are we really basing it on moving up five spots? If Atlanta is serious about wanting Clowney or Robinson they have to move up in the draft to get him. We already know Buffalo is rumored to be wanting to move up also. Maybe the Bills will be more willing to make that trade?

The farther up the team has to go the better the haul for the Texans.

Trade down to 9 and you can probably get their 2nd and another pick this year along with their 1st and either 2nd or 3rd next year.

We've got to get away from asking for 3 straight #1's. Nobody outside Sonny Weaver Jr. will make that trade.

Are you kidding? Instead of Clay Matthews, we selected his former deadbeat bust of a teammate named Brian Cushing! Yeah, we're kicking ourselves for that bonehead move - NOT!
Exactly. Simply considering a player's collegiate injury history should have been enough to avoid that mistake. Now we regret the opulent contract we served to the easily injured Cushing. Where have you been?
