For years, the lament of defensive coordinators and secondary coaches was that the draft pool never featured enough bigger cornerback prospects, guys with the kind of physical dimensions requisite for matching up with the over 6-feet-tall wide receivers which are in such preponderance leaguewide. But now, with a pendulum swinging back toward the coverage players who can run deep and hang with a pass-catcher, rather than redirect the routes by muscling wide receivers, the taller corners may not be such a commodity.

before just reading this I posted on why the Texans would not draft Rolle if he were available for similar reasons, however also I noted that Adam Pac-Man Jones by failing particaptate in the Combines hurts his chances in the eyes of Texans. I find it laughable all the media tends to focus on one individual or another when the best prospect goes unnoticed (Justin Miller) oh well, at least we can trust Casserly to do his own homework and not to be influenced by bogus ratings.

Relatively small, but not impossible. If teams rate Justin Miller, Carlos Rodgers, Marlin Jackson and Bryant McFadden ahead of him, that'd make him the 7th CB in the draft which wouldn't be a long shot to still be around in the 40-50 picks. Most folks already rate Miller and Rodgers ahead of Browner and its said Jackson's been impressing people.

"In very simple terms, too much height creates a bigger target," Colts president Bill Polian says. "Generally speaking, tall people tend not to be real good knee benders and real quick in their movements. The axiom I've always followed is beware of too tall rather than beware of too short."

One NFC team prescribes maximum heights for each position. If a prospect is taller than the second tallest productive player in the NFL at that position, he gets a red flag. The thinking is the tallest productive player in the NFL probably is an aberration. That isn't to say the prospect can't be an aberration, like "Too Tall" Jones. But the team would have to determine that. In this year's draft, there are a handful of prospects who will face extra scrutiny because of their heights.

Everyone needs tall corners, right? Well, not this tall. Broncos cornerback Lenny Walls is 6-4, and that's one reason he came into the league as a free agent. "Corners who are cut too high can't turn and run," an AFC personnel director says.

For this reason, a tall corner is more troubling than a tall receiver, such as 6-4 Southern California wideout Mike Williams. Taller receivers usually lack quickness in and out of their cuts, but that skill is not as vital to a receiver as it is to a corner.
