Sidney Jones suffers ruptured Achilles at his Pro Day.

Very sad news for the guy, truly devastating for him. He was ranked anywhere between 2-6th best corner and a sure fire 1st rounder. Where does he end up now? My guess somewhere in the fourth round. If he falls anymore he become a very good value i think.
 
He's gonna sit at least a year and may never return to what he was
 
True but in the fifth round I believe the risk reward becomes too good to pass up.

Thats exactly what I think. It would be like trading this years 5th for a first next year. I would do that in a heartbeat.

I would spend the extra Texans # 25 4th on Jones.

From what I've read he's a guy who loves football.
 
We are in a perfect position to take a guy like Jones. Let him rehab a year while also learning the system. Jo Jo and K Jax aren't getting any younger. By the time he's healthy he can step in and have a leg up on a normal presumed first round pick trying to pick up the defense.
 
What are the odds of Jones ever returning to the field to be the player he currently is? An achilles rupture is very serious, and I'm sure it also depends on the level of the injury.

Terrell Suggs came back in 5 months or so, at 34 yo, to play well again. This improved from a typical recovery time of closer to a year.

And there are of course all the variables that come into play for each individual's recovery process.
 
This type of injury used to be the kiss of death for an athlete. Now, its better than 50/50 they come back. Hope the kid makes it.
