1 GREG ROBINSON, OT/ Starts week one as RT. He can move to LT If needed.

2 TOM SAVAGE, QB/

If this is true. Why waste the number one pick for a bench player?

3 DRI ARCHER, WR/ The Texans are on the lookout for a slot receiver, which is important in O'Brien's system. "We don't really have one right now," O'Brien acknowledged. That bodes poorly for recent draft picks Keshawn Martin and DeVier Posey. O'Brien did say he "really thinks" franchise legend Andre Johnson will enjoy the new offense.

Dri Archer would be a major improvement over Keshawn Martin and could start week one.

4 DANIEL MCCULLERS, DT

4 AJ MCCARRON, QB There is a chance Mccarron could be a impact player in the nfl one day. He could be a great back up if he dont mature in to a starter

5 GEORGE UKO, DT / DE

6 CHRIS BOSWELL, K the best kicker in the draft.

6 DE'ANTHONY THOMAS, RB since ben tate is gone.

6 RICHARD RODGERS, TE since Owen Daniels is gone.

7 RYAN HEWITT, FB Special Teams.

7 JONATHAN DOWLING, FS Special Team .

I do not think our defense is a major issue. This is why think the Texans need to focus on offence.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts ,although I think you are wrong about our defense being ok. VERY WRONG. I think at best we have 3 of our front 7 players who are quality starters, Watt, Cushing and Mercilus if you are being generous and one of those can't stay on the field.

I'm ok with Robinson at 1:1.

Think you are way overdrafting Savage and Archer. Savage may go 2nd round but still think that is a reach.

Don't particularly like either of your QB picks and if we spent 2 of our top 5 picks on QB I would be really disappointed.

I like McCullers and Dowling as picks.

I think you might be over-valuing the RT position. Sure, protecting the QB of the future is important but dropping a number one pick to shore up the side of the field that he will actually be able to see seems a bit... overkill. Besides, picking Clowney at that spot would free Reed up to move inside if a better option doesn't present itself in the rest of the draft.

Archer would be an exiting component to add to any offense but I'm more than a little worried about his ability to hold up in the NFL at 5'8" 170ish.

I love Mccarron but I think we'll need to take him with the third pick at the latest. Dude's a gamer and I'd rather have him than ESPN's heartthrob Savage. I'm not saying Savage won't be good but I also think his ability to learn playbooks due to his journeyman past is vastly overvalued and will get him drafted way before he reasonably should come off the board.

The rest looks good to me. McCuller's potential at his size is particularly enticing.

Phillips considered Reed at ILB and did not pursue. Nothing wrong with a pass rushing OLB IF you think he will perform but we selected a high sack guy in Mercilus. I'd rather stick with him and Reed with Trevardo Williams rotating and use #1 for Higher priority. 3 Amigos' mock also has Robinson 1.1

I'm hoping two gapping DEs & true unpredictability of which LB is rushing the passer will help Reed & Mercilus get to the QB.

Heck, throwing a safety or CB blitz in there from time to time might help as well.

I still just don't see the RT position as a higher priority for us right now than acquiring a better pass rush specialist. The way I see it, Crennel still needs to address several holes holes throughout his front 7. Smith brought in a couple safeties to compete for the spot across from Swearinger but there are still holes at ILB, NT, and at any position that will help get JJ into one-on-one situations rushing the passer. On top of this, Crennel's a guy, from what I hear, that can fit a defense to exploit the best of his players' abilities so adding a dynamic athlete like Clowney, who will be able to at least take some of the focus away from Watt, while relying on the competition between Newton, B. Williams, and a later draft pick to determine who mans the right side of the o-line provides more value in the long-run than slotting a franchise left tackle on the right side. Who knows what the FO is thinking though.

Personally I don't think we should weigh need "too" heavily as it relates to our first round pick. I know that's how Rick does it, but I'd be more interested in getting the best player available.

& while "everyone' is convinced that Clowney is that best player, I'm not convinced. He won't be playing DE for us if we draft him.

I'd take either Watkins (who I think is the best player) or Robinson (need weighted).

Same thing with 33. If we're not going QB, I'd take the bpa. Need may be considered, but if I was as high on that Buchanon dude that some are & he's there, I'd take him. Or if Cj Mosely is still there, I'd take him.

This team will get a lot better a lot faster imo.

Yes, we'll still have other needs, we'll still have holes. But play makers will make up for that.
