Caw Daddy said:Jonathan Wells is our new starting fullback. thats what i like to see. check the home page for the article.
keyfro said:after the season wells had last year i would try to get him on the field more...and if that's by making him a make shift fullback then by all means tell him to make the transition...wells has the size to block, run inside the tackles and make some people miss...if he can improve his pass catching ability he could really be a solid piece of our offense...you put him and davis in the backfield on 3rd and 4yds you can bet there is gonna be some little dump pass to one of them...but now you'll have to guess who instead of focusing in on davis
Tends to shy away from contact when running inside Runs too upright and will throttle down a bit before taking the hit Lacks aggression and true body lean through the rush lanes, appearing more comfortable attempting to bounce to the outside His lateral slide appears a little choppy Loses his feet at times going in and out of his breaks Not much of a contact seeker and prefers to not go for the pass in traffic Will absorb blows as a pass protector, but shows a passive nature as a blocker
Vinny said:That sums up the Jon Wells I've known. If he wants to be a fullback he has to start delivering blows. So far in his short time here he has yet to play as physical as his body would make one expect. We've never used the Fullback much so perhaps we are working on a sort of an H-back role for Wells.
Zac said:Miller and the other TE could never help block for Carr!!! Let's hope that Wells can do the job.
Vinny said:Matchups will dictate our offensive package but I think we will use the 3 wr + TE the most. Camp is in a few weeks so we will all get a good idea what they have up their sleeves fairly soon.![]()
