Sharper calls for change, why shouldn't we?

I'm guessing (so as to not offend anyone) that Sharper has an opinion but thinks it unwise to say more. That make sense?

I'm so tired of "support only" fans. I went through it with the Oilers, with the Titans (they were just as bad as the apologists here, though that seems to have changed by now--the Titan board in much more realistic and honest than it used to be), and now I've spent a couple years here with smart people who nevertheless are willing to forgive anything in the name of expansion team, or only the 2nd year, and now only the 3rd year. Face it, folks, we have a mess on our hands in the Texans, and it doesn't look like there's anyone around who can or will clean it up.

Is it really that enjoyable to be so negative ? May I suggest Cleveland or San Francisco you could really have fun.

Why does someone have to be in 100% agreement with what the Texans organization to be a true fan of this team? Just because you don't agree with what is being done, and you have an opinion that is different then others, doesn't mean you don't love this team!

I don't agree with the coaching staff here, I'd like to see a change, just as many others would, and I am as much a Texan fan as anyone else, and so are they. Hell, I based where we were going to live off getting a view of the Southern sky so we could get the Sunday Ticket on Directv. I live in Colorado and still flew home to see four games this year.

So please, have your opinion, all of your opinions, feel free to voice them, but don't question someones feelings for this team just because they don't agree with you.

with this much negativity regarding the team right now isnt it natural to question the team, other fans, and opinions in general?

we're all frustrated wether we're completly accepting of the team or not...

and lets not forget, your on a message board. all post are fair game for the random smart*ss comment.

(waits patiently)

ya know your right. if that whole new coach thing dosent work out lets try for a new general manager and then maybe a new owner. before we're done maybe we can try for a new city...ohhh wait... :shocked

I can tell you from watching the Oilers for years that changing coaches every 3yrs. doesnt work. They sucked because Bud kept canning coaches.

your preaching to the choir bro. this team has issues ,but not enough to start whacking coaches and coordinators.

losing sucks, but that's not what bothers me. what bothers me is that we've been playing to keep games close since the first year. this is not a new knee-jerk discussion created because we lost some games. i'm a season ticket holder and have been to one game this season because playing not to lose simply frustrates me too much and apparently it's finally getting frustrating on the field aswell. capers was brought in to get an expansion team started ... well, we've started. now we let a game day guru take the reigns and move forward. if we're not capable of finding a coach for this team, that that sucks and stick with capers ... noone wants a rebuild. we have the on field personnel, our owner & gm are fantastic, all that's missing is someone who reacts and makes adjustments DURING the game.

our line as powda eluded to is a huge problem also, but it's not squarely on them. carr (who i'm not bashing, yet ... i still see potential) HAS to know where his receivers are going and see the field before and during the snap. instead he drops back and then scans, and his progressions are simply too slow. getting better, but still too slow. by that time pressure is getting there and he scrambles ... no lineman in football can keep up with a constantly moving quarterback. this is something that has to be practiced ... see the defense, drop 3-5 steps, hit the receiver. once that's done, replace weigert & mckinney.

oh, and why doesnt sharper look in the mirror? if leading by example is an option, he's king. for 3 years straight he's been our best player on defense and possibly in the organization. after 40+ games of futility he's frustrated and finally said so. he is leading, and now he's pointing to next in the chain of command to do their job because he's kicking butt at his. along with dunta & coleman, they've done everything right ... but bend & dont break should've quit when everyone got off of IR. capers focused on not giving other teams the big play, but he's making sure we avoid em too.

Sharper needs to point the finger at himself, particularly this year. In a 3-4, one of the LB's needs to step up and be an athletic, intellectual and emotional leader. Sharper has the play down--although his play has not been as good this year. Don't know why, but for some reason Foreman is the playcaller instead of Sharper. Ever hear about Sharper sitting around all week watching film on top of what the team shows in the meetings like Lewis does? Peek has the only emotion among the LB's and his emotion is so raw it is too unfocused. Sharper is in the perfect spot to become the leader of the D--if he wants to point fingers it should be at himself--become the player he was last year, ask to make the playcalls and then study to get them right, and inspire the D.
