If your thinking of George Selvie out of South Florida then yes. As much as having a pass rushing DE opposite Mario would help and still can't bring myself to taking yet another DL ahead of others (LT or Secondary). Selvie is really really good though.

i don't see him declaring, but he'd be an ideal RDE for anyone, provided he spent some more time in the weight room. he's still very raw and will probably be even better next year, although he probably won't equal the stats.

Yeah, the scary thing about watching him is his body hasn't even matured. He isn't like Mario when he came out with that body. You can tell Selvie is going to fill out.

Further, Earl Cocran and Kalu make a prety good DE. I'm not posting it would not be nice. Not posting that they should pass up a tallented guy if he falls to them. What I'm posting is that this HC goes with the devil he knows over the devil he doesn't know. And he knows the two guys who bled for him this season.
From my tree: going to have to be a hellova player to pull the trigger on pass rush DE. All of you clamoring for a free safty....Utah has a prety fair Sr. lining up this week. Still say our safties are already on the roster.

Selvie is just that type of elite pass rushing end. When his body fully matures, he is going to be a complete DE who just happens to be better than everyone else at rushing the QB. Regardless of our past drafts, I would pull the trigger on Selvie in the first. I think that highly of him and he hasn't even reached his potential yet.

Other than Selvie, if he declares, I don't support taking a D-lineman in the first.
