Secondary, what's up?

So, only being able to watch the pre-season games via NFL.COM's game-stats I realized that our secondary were not too good at preventing the Ram's passing game. So, question is, were this the case with our first team too, or were it the result of a somewhat lacking depth in our secondary?

Another thing: One thing I noted was that Pbuc seemed much more active, getting in there and making plays, which is exactly the reason he was brought to Houston. Ofcourse that means a few blown assignments and the occational pass interference, but at least he's getting physical.

I also noticed that the passing game was successful against us...but I think that was the 2nd and 3rd team D...but Ya i agree with u about PBuc, he got a FF, and he got a couple tackles, and that will improve any team, he just needs to know whats....too close, cuz he gave up 2 pass interference calls yesterday

but I am suprised by Dexter McCleon, he had 5 tackles yesterday, and for a corner, that means he is gettin in the middle of plays and making good reads...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TEXANS!! :redtowel:

it means he was getting picked on, he gave up alot of yards.

drob and pbuch are the 2 corners who really played well yesterday

When a corner has a lot of tackles against WRs, its a bad sign. It means the balls being thrown at him a lot, and he's giving up the catches.

You want to see him get tackles on RBs

I'd really prefer not to. I'd prefer the RB be tackled LONG before he gets to our DBs.

Mccleon was giving up way too much space and so did Drob at the begining of the game but he adjusted accordingly. Mccleon didn't, and he looked pretty bad IMO.

We're going to get torched with the coverage we saw last night. P.Buch is pressing and making stupid mistakes. He's a veteran that should be beyond what we saw last night, IMO, and is a liability as a DB.

We can keep him for punt returns, though.

i think he has the athletic ability to press and still keep up with the WR. his closing speed is good and i just saw that 1 mistake where he did not turn and look for the ball.

i think cc brown is more of a liability at this point in time if we are discussing secondary.

Where were you when I needed backup in the Buchanon thread? I didn't get to see the whole game so I pretty much fizzled in my arguement.

Tory Holt was open several times, but their QB couldn't get the ball to him.
He could have burned us several times.
Bruce was open on the two yard line but caught the ball out of bounds. He had Daunte turned around and couldn't get back on Bruce.
