Rumor: Young having second thoughts?

I know, another VY thread :brickwall but I thought this was kind of interesting...Not sure how close to being true it is, but according to the Arizona Republic, Young is having second thoughts and would be able to return to school since he hasn't signed an agent yet...

He is going to be signing autographs at a card show, IIRC. Prolly not for free. So, if he hasn't technically signed with an agent yet, taking money for signing autographs would be aginst NCAA stuff, I'm sure.

i saw the autograph thing--he is getting more than HOF QB Jim Kelly to sign his name. well, VY is in the HOF already, right. that is pathetic.

Not sure why it's surprising anyone that an elite prospect is trying to prep his body for the draft/eval process and the transition to the pro ranks. I would be more surprised if an elite player didn't start one week after their last bowl game.

The rumor mill on sports illustrated said. Vince young might be changing his mind on entering the draft. coach mack brown is trying to convince him to return. He can still dropout of the draft because he has not signed an agent.

Tell what your thoughts on this.

It wouldnt surprise me. The hype of the Rose Bowl is dieing down and VY is no longer considered a god amongst men by many around the league. His stock could slide to the bottom of the top ten by the time March rolls around.

I dont think he will improve his draft stock much more by returning though. He isnt going to become a more polished QB in the UT system.. and that is going to be the biggest knock against him whether he comes out this year or next. I dunno though..maybe the QB pool will be thinner next year.

False... Young actually signed with an agent today.

And the "hype" is just beginning.... go read Skip Bayless' new column over at ESPN today with a quote from an NFL scout saying VY is the closest thing to Michael Jordan since he left Chicago. There are some skeptics, like there are with every player, but the chance of Vince falling into the bottom half of the top 10 is about the same as the Rockets winning 60 games this year.

Look for VY to end up as the number 2 pick going to NO. Face the facts NO needs anything it can get to attract people to that team and city at the moment, Why not take the hype machine and the VY experience right down Bourbon Street.

maybe he takes this money ...then undeclares right before the draft..draft is completed ..we take bush...then he is declared ineligable for the 2006 season in ncaa... we take him using our 1st next year in the supplemental draft..would that make everyone happy?

That's a big tipoff. Mack was not going to try to get him to stay. He never tells players what to do anyway, but in this instance, he actually thought it was best for Vince to go.
