Robaire Smith gave the Texans a brief scare Tuesday as he went down near the end of the team's second mini-camp practice of the day.
Smith, Houston's starting right defensive end, sprained his neck in team drills.
"He came down on an inside slant and the whole line kind of collpased the other way," head coach Dom Capers said. "He sprained his neck. We'll get our doctors to check it out and see. But he took a good collision with all of his weight going one way and the line going the other way."
Smith will be held out of the Texans' final mini-camp practice tomorrow as a precautionary measure.
"Anything that we have out here concerns me," Capers said. "And anything up around the neck area, you're always going to be concerned and cautious about. We'll see what the doctors say tonight."
