Road Game Tickets - GreenBay

I've never been to a road game so I wasn't sure how it works on getting tickets. Do the Texans or NFL provide Texan fans with an opportunity to buy tickets or do you have to buy them off ebay or some other ticket place?

We are really looking forward to this trip, who else is planning on going?

Just like the post above me said, the Texans have a road package deal per person and that includes a ticket to the game and hotel and a ride to the game.

I have been on the green bay's fan site looking at this past year and seeing if people sold their tickets on their and from what I can gather is that the tickets are sold in front of the stadium in a location for scalpers or on ebay.

It seems most of the people there do not sell their tickets on their site like we have here on this site.
 
I hope this game is in December. If I'm going to Lambeau, I want to see it frozen.

I would like to go to this game.

I am guessing it is not likely going to be a December game. Typically, like other teams that are in warm weather or have roofs, the Texans tend to have their home games weighted towards December. Lots of three home game Decembers.
 
Aren't there travel agents that would put a group together? I bet someone up there is making money hooking up visiting fans.

It would be sweet to have a large group from here go together.

My wife wants to go on a cruise. I think she'll agree that a trip to the frozen tundra would be a great alternative. I am sure all of you gals would too, right??

After watching the game vs the Seafish, I was saying the same thing.
I want to see a game in the snow! So when someon finds anything out about this trip, post it please!

We are going, been planning on this one for a year. All I need is the date and I am pushing ahead on our plans. :cool:

Carefull what you wish for. If you haven't been in that kind of cold before it can be a very rude awakining and painfull if it is sub-zero with wind.
 
To add to that point, I was in that general area on January 12, 2007. On that day, I recall a temp of zero degrees F with a wind chill of minus 25. The last thing you want to do in those conditions is leave the house, much less drive to and sit outside at a football game. Plus, you can't buy the clothes down here that you can up there and if you try to kluge together some kind of Houston Academy or WalMart outfit to wear up there, the cold will rip you to the bone.

The best cold/snow games are like the one you saw where the temp is in the high 20's or right around 30 with little or no wind - and snowing.

Most people in Green Bay go to the game with thier tickets, so there is not that many to sell, A lot of these tickets are 3rd and 4th generation.

Dont forget I was in Russia in Jan to adopt my lil girl, and I have never been anywhere cold before, but got lots of tips and survived no problem. Its all about knowing what to wear for sure. Bring it on Im ready for the snow!
 
Been planning this one for a LONG LONG time!!! I will be there, regardless of the price and regardless of the cold. I agree with GW. I hope this game is in December, but, doubt it will be.

Can't wait for the schedule to come out.

Beginning late Thursday night, colder air will surge into the Upper Midwest from Canada as an arctic front races south. This front is expected to trek all the way to the Gulf Coast by early Saturday, bringing well below normal temperatures to much of the eastern two-thirds of the country. The cold air looks to be accompanied by gusty northerly winds on Friday in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and wind chills to the -25°F to -40°F range appear likely given the meteorological setup

...is not fun. Ask people who live in that ****. I know a few and they agree.

edit: usually you don't see that kind of weather up there until late Dec/Jan, so if you're playing the odds, you're probably not going to see that kind of weather - fortunately.

Wind Chills like that are not fun at all.

However, Lambeau is an awesome place to watch games. I took a group up this year during the Texans bye week in November and it the temp was about 47.

Usually Snow comes around Thanksgiving and December games you can be looking at single digit highs. Two years ago the Pack played detroit on a Sunday night game and at kick off the temp was about 7 and quickly slid. By the time you got hot chocolate back to your seat it was starting to freeze.

If you are going to this game get your hotel reservations in within the first few weeks of the schedule being released or you will end up staying in Appleton or Osh Kosh. Which driving after a game can be treacherous if there is snow or ice combined with everyone else that have been enjoying adult beverages.

One other thing is tickets will probably cost a bit more after the playoff run this year. If Favre is back the expectations will be Super Bowl or Bust!

There is a preferred vendor / partner of the Packers. That have complete packages including tailgate party with unlimited beer, bloody marys, screwdrivers, brats, etc. I am unsure if its ok to post the name or link here. Mods is that OK?

Also when you are there try the Spotted Cow.

Well, that's not entirely true. '06 and '07 are the only seasons the Texans have had 3 home games after November 30. And total, 14 home and 15 road games in December/January.

Please post the name of the link. It is relevant to the thread.

The Texans will have packages too, and you will be more likely hooked up with other Texans fans.

Though I will say, I think I'd rather make some Packer fan friends, and find some non-corporate tailgates to crash. :cool:

Thanks for the actual info, and not the top of the head thought.

What road games have the Texans had in December/January in cold weather?

I can only recall the December game in Chicago in 2004.

Only 2 games on the road in December has the temp. been below 40.
Chicago, of course, in '04, temperature 12 degrees with a wind chill of -8, and Pittsburgh in '02, 35 degrees.

In '04 it was 40 in Jacksonville with a wind chill of 30.

And the Texans WON all 3.:splits:
So bring on the frozen tundra!!!
