MIAMI (AP) - An arbitration ruling that ordered Ricky Williams to repay the Miami Dolphins $8.6 million was upheld Tuesday by a federal judge, who rejected arguments that the award disregarded Florida law and was excessive.

U.S. District Judge James Cohn ruled arbitrator Richard Bloch was "well within the scope of his authority" in his interpretation of the case.
Williams breached his contract when he retired abruptly last July. Bloch ruled in September that under the terms of the contract, he was required to repay the Dolphins $8.6 million in bonus money he had received.

So how long does it take Ricky to come back and look for some money? Any guesses?

I say that he's back at the start of the '05 season with the Oakland Raiders or any other team in desperate need of a legit RB and doesn't have a top 15 pick in this draft.

He might claim bankruptcy to get out of paying them back.

A judge would have to approve that bankruptcy....and with Ricky still able to play in the NFL, I highly doubt that he would be even allowed to declare himself bankrupt.

If Donald Trump can file bankruptcy, I doubt Ricky Williams would have a problem doing it.

Donald Trump didn't file for bankruptcy; it was one of the corporations headed by Donald Trump (I think it was a casino in Atlantic City) filed for bankruptcy a while back; corporate bankruptcies are a whole lot different than personal bankruptcies.

Here in the Portland metro area, the Oregon Arena Corporation (headed by billionaire Paul Allen) filed for bankruptcy not too long ago....

You are right, but my point was that anyone can file for bankruptcy, no matter if they work or whatever, the only thing that can stop a bankruptcy is if a creditor tries to fight it. My brother filed bankruptcy because he buried himself in credit card bills and then Ford said he owed them $10,000 for the car he totaled because his insurance only covered what it was worth and not the payoff so he filed for bankruptcy and not one creditor showed up to court. The lawyer told him that 99% of the time creditors do not show up to those things because they can just write it off as a loss.

Hes gonna be spiritualling healing bums behind a taco bell in southern california within a few years.

whats gonna be really interesting.. is when he no longer has money to buy weed. Assuming he stops smoking and doesnt take the route of the crackhead. Suddenly.. well maybe not suddenly, but after a year or two of being sober.. hes gonna realize that it was the weed robbing him of his drive and ambition.. and its gonna be too late to get back his old life.

Poor high fool.

but did you know....
Williams, 27, has been studying holistic medicine at a small college near Sacramento, Calif.
chronic... the paper (not Ricky)

... and what's holistic medicine....
If you're interested in herbal medicine, massage therapy, or natural health, you can make a living at it. A relatively new field, holistic medicine offers many diverse and well-paying jobs.
holistic medicine

I think he's going for the herbal medicine part of it vs. massage therapy...
