Jerry Rice talked Sunday like a man who was done in Oakland, and the rumblings behind the scenes indicate his Bay Area football career may be over.

The disgruntled receiver and his agent have been granted permission to speak to Seattle about a possible trade before Tuesday's 1 p.m. deadline.

I figured the Lions being that's his old coach and all but maybe that's a move he doesn't want to make across the country and all. Seattle would be alot closer to the Bay Area.

Seahawks | Suspension for Robinson? - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 18 Oct 2004 10:07:08 -0700

Mike Sando, of the News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks WR Koren Robinson may be facing a four-game suspension under the terms of the NFL's substance-abuse policy. Robinson is appealing the ruling. The news was initially reported by CBS's "The NFL Today" host Greg Gumbel Sunday, October 17. No official announcement has been made by the NFL regarding the situation.

Another moron. Man, what a bunch of *****s. If I were a teammate I'd rip these sorry punks for basically turning thier backs on thier teams. That's what it amounts to to me at least.

According to Mort on Monday Night Countdown, the trade of Rice to Seattle is all but done. There should be an announcement later tonight, or sometime tommorrow before the trade deadline. Good luck in Seattle Jerry.

Maybe he was just getting depressed with the fans in Oakland.

According to Fox Radio this morning it is done.

Since their number is such an important part of their legacy, wonder how Jerry Rice feels about losing #80 when he gets to the Seahawks? Hall of Fame Steve Largent's 80 was retired.

It wouldn't suprise me if Largent lets Rice wear number 80 out of respect between two all time great receivers. :twocents:

The Hawk fans might have something to say about that... :taz:

They're getting Jerry. I don't think they'll complain one bit. With the way their recievers have consistenty dropped balls, and now with the suspension of Koren Robinson, they'd welcome Jerry with open arms. If Largent gave Jerry the 'OK' to wear it then I'm sure the fans wouldn't mind at all. Especially if Jerry can help teach those young WRs to catch the ball when it's thrown to them.
