Rematch:Tivy v. Lake Travis 2

Wolf

100% Texan
first meeting Lake Travis won 37-33 and now they will play again in San Antonio friday night

Colin Lagasse went back to old form. After taking over at quarterback last week when star Michael Brewer went down with an injured shoulder, Lagasse made big plays on offense, but his biggest might have been on defense.

An honorable mention all-state safety last season as a sophomore, Lagasse sealed the game after coming down with an interception at the goal line with 2:23 remaining and a potent Tivy offense marching. That allowed Lake Travis, which had its 48-game winning streak snapped last week, to secure a comeback victory over the Antlers at Cavalier Stadium.

The Cavs’ defense allowed Tivy’s touted quarterback Johnny Manziel to rush for 273 yards on 37 carries and four touchdowns. Manziel, who is contemplating offers from Oregon and Texas A&M after a recent visit to College Station, also completed 18 of 26 passes for 195 yards.

“I told people all week long that he reminded me of Brett Favre on a motorcycle,” Lake Travis coach Hank Carter said. “He’s very, very fast, very strong and throws the ball great. What an excellent athlete.”

Lake Travis spotted Tivy 19 points early, but responded with three scores to to carry momentum into halftime.
