Now, I realize that you guys know all of this.. , but a little refresher that the women learn at Football 101.

Something else that could help ...
With all the technology available, why don't they put a trailer after the ball or sensors on the goal posts that light up when the ball goes through? How bout positioning a camera above the goal post?..
The yellow first down line is a good start.

I believe they have a camera mounted on the crossbar of the field goal sometimes. It rotates and follows the ball through the uprights. I don't know if they do that all the time or not, but you'll see it on most nation-wide broadcasts.
