In my opinion, our Houston Texans football team needs to take RB Reggie Bush over QB Vince Young with the number one pick (assuming we do not trade it.)
Some may arguee we already have a good back with Davis, which is true. However, Davis is very injury prone. We've seen this in the previous years and this one. By drafting Bush, it gives us a speedy back with also tremendous ability to run the outside. Then, we could mix Davis in, the more power style back, to run counters and up the middle.
By doing this, it would also allow David Carr to do playaction deep passes to our playmaking wideout Andre Johnson.
We are building this team around David Carr. People, this guy is a good quaterback, just some of the people around him don't fit, including the previous coaches perhaps. The Texans publicly relased a statement that they will not trade Carr, and re-signed Carr to an $8 million dollar bonus. Their is a reason Gary Kubiak is leasding canidate foro ur head coaching job: to help David Carr get to the next level. Gary Kubiak was even asked in the interview how he plans to take Carr to the next level.
Plus, if we draft Bush, they're will be free-agent lineman wanting to come to Houston to block for him, providing Carr with the neccesary protection.
Bottom line, yes David Carr does have some flaws, he does. He, at times, has trouble picking up the secondary reciever, sometimes he doesnt watch the playclock and gets delay of game. But guys, he has been the QB of an expansion team since day 1. Even Peyton Manning would be struggling! Carr is also a family man and a very holy man, both positive attributes which are going to help him suceed with the Houston Texans in the future.
