Raiders fire Mike Mayock

The only reason he lost his job was because God'ell or somebody from the NFL office under God'ell's watch released Gruden's confidential emails in which Gruden called God'ell gay. BTW, God'ell's brother's gay and if I had to bet God'ell may not have bleeped a bleep, but I bet he put it in his mouth more than once.

Mayock got caught up in the middle of God'ell's form of justice he reigned down on Gruden for this reason. I'm hoping Gruden wins his lawsuit against God'ell/NFL and hits them for about 100 mil. Maybe then the NFL will end the damage God'ell has done to the game.

Gruden got fired because the eMails became public & the Raiders caved to SJWs. Goodell didn't demand they fire him.

Mayock got fired because his drafts were OK, nothing special & if they're going forward with out Gruden no reason to keep his buddy around, clean sweep.

Gruden got fired because somebody in the NFL office that God'ell runs wrongly released confidential emails. Mayock got fired because Gruden got fired. You think if Gruden hadn't gotten fired that Mayock would've been fired?

Yep, all because God'ell allowed illegal things to happen on his watch. This is why Gruden is suing and probably will win his lawsuit against the NFL. Meanwhile through no fault of his own Mayock loses his job.

He should, it's against the law to release confidential emails. BTW, Despite Gruden/Ruggs the Raiders were still a playoff team that gave the Bengals all they could handle. They were really building something in Vegas. Also Gruden really helped Carr's game.

Disagree, Davis cleaned the slate and is going to put all of this behind him and start with a totally new regime. Looks to me like Jim Harbaugh will be running the show in Vegas starting next yr.
 
I'm giving Mayock a pass because Gruden had control of the roster. I would've kept Mayock to see what he could do without Gruden being the controlling voice in the room. Never was a fan of Gruden, he won a SB with Tony Dungy's team. Was fired shortly after because he had lost the locker room.
 
I respect Mayock he seems like a real decent, old school type but game has passed him by…. Enjoy his scouting reports, much to gleam just not usually his conclusions. Best for him, best for Raiders he moves on.

Gruden/Mayock did put together a playoff team that gave the Bengals all they wanted. If Arnette/Ruggs weren't so stupid then maybe they beat the Bengals.
 
Raiders trying to remove all the Gruden stink and move forward as a franchise. Gruden hired Mayock so I don't blame them for wanting to move on with someone else.

Maybe we have a different definition of "shortly after", because Gruden coached for 6 more seasons in Tampa Bay. He won the Super Bowl in 2002 and wasn't fired until 2008.

He finished what Dungy started, and every player on the team (even Warren Sapp eventually) admitted that Gruden was instrumental in bringing a much needed offense to get them over the hump. Not any different than what Kubiak did in Denver after Fox was fired. Heck, the other team Gruden built made it to the SB the year after he was fired.
