The Texans won and we demolished the Titans in the 2nd half. :banana:
I guess the coaching staff should get some of credit for this win, since they get credited for all the losses. :listening :whoohoo:
 
Palmer called a great second half and it seemed that everything the Texans ran worked, great play calls,check, good execution,check, SWEEP THE TITANS(in the battle red i might add), DOUBLE CHECK. :jumpbanan
 
I agree...if we're gonna blame the coaches for lack of motivation (and I've been one of them who has) we've also gotta give them credit for getting everyone's head back on straight. I missed most of the first quarter, but when I flipped it on the Texans didn't seem to be doing anything right - but they sure got it going.
Defense did a great job getting pressure (still like to see better on 3rd down but we wait until at least Tuesday to talk about that stuff right?), started calling plays that got Carr out of the pocket where he's extremely dangerous.

If you'd offered me 2-14 at the start of the year with both wins coming over the Titans....I might have taken it... :)
 
Steve McNair in post game comments made similar comments about Carr on the outside. I would add this corresponds to what I have been saying after the bye week and that was Carr's ankle was not 100%. That was also true in the Denver game. Carr has to be mobile with this O-line. He was a major factor in reducing the QB sacks last year. If the team and Carr are healthy they can beat anyone when they come to play. As AJ said in the post game comments, may be the offense will play a complete game in one of the 5 remaining games. Seems like we play well the 1st or 2nd half, but not both.
 
Game Statistics..... Statistically we won very little in this game. We scored the most points and we didn't fumble the ball 7 times. Other than that we really were even or less in most statistical catagories. Kind of interesting when you think about it. We have a long way to go to become a dominent team.
 
My point is that time of possession and all of the other stats Capers like weren't there, but TO's were. Just interesting how a game can look on paper vs what it looks like while its being played. No question we dominated the 2nd half and that's usually the most important half. We play the JETS next and the JAGS get PITTSBURGH. The TITANS get the COLTS. We have a good shot at 2nd place if we can win the one coming up. ESPN is commenting on how an 8-8 team could make it in the NFC while a 10 win team might not make it in the AFC. Again another one of those interesting stats.

Ibar, how do you know if you didn't see the game?
 
I think it was great that the team won, and they played a great 2nd half, but im still a little disappointed in carr some times. Every time he has to run its horizontal to the sideline then he may try to get a yard or so. Maybe im crazy but get up field some first then move laterally or he could SLIDE feet first and still not get hit. Maybe the glamorous hair is getting to his killer attitude. And that sack he took where the DT was coming and he crunched up and ducked his head when the guy wasnt even there yet and still being half blocked. He didnt impress me with his play today. But at least he USED THE TEs today. Maybe they have realized that TE is a deadly weapon, look at Peyton tossing them left and right to his TE and look at Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates. Use the players we got, they arent getting paid for nothing.

its only his 3rd year and he's shown a lot of improvement each year. he was 21 for 30 with 2 td's and 1 int. and we won. that was with an oline that is still not blocking for him.
 
Give Carr the great blocking that Manning has, and I'm sure he would be showing even better numbers.

It all comes down to controlling the trenches.

The first time we beat the Titans was last year they where currently up 3 games to 0... I was at the first game we slaughtered them it was are home opener it was shuch a great feeling.. we went on to sweep them last year and hopefully we do it again next week.. enjoy the sweep Houston

Uh, I guess you have no reason to rag on Babin this week. On Carr; he had the longest run from the LOS before this past Sunday. He is a pretty mobile QB, who is starting to make some pretty good decisions on when to try to run the ball, or get rid of it. On the sack by the DT; the pocket collapsed and the guy was there. How about remembering the couple of times in the second half where he ran out of the pocket and completed first down passes while under pressure? Maybe you should look at Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates, and tell me just who in the hell on our team remotely resembles either one of them.
 
Carr usually runs laterally to the line of scrimmage looking to pass rather than just take his chances with the linebackers. I think it's a sign of maturity on his part, because he knows he isn't going to run anyone over like Culpepper or blow by anyone like Vick. He usually only runs if hes within reach of a first down or theres wide open lane for him to get good yardage. Then of course theres the occasional breakdown where he tries to escape the pocket by running straight into the DTs in front of him.
 
I too got upset when I saw Fisher celebrating over the blocked FG but then I remembered how Fisher is a coach that gets his players to play higher than their level and he points out alot of small stuff to motivate his players. He almost took a depleted Houston Oiler team in its last year of existence to the playoffs a while back

I do have to say though, I was pumping my fist when we pulled out the broom on them though. Awesome feeling.
 
Gosh you know there are any number of posts here recently making a point that Coach Capers is not emotionally involved in the games and doesn't motivate his players so what's the problem with an opposing coach that does?

Coach Fisher is a very good coach. I happen to like Coach Capers. It doesn't bother me that he is studious and unemotional.

It also doesn't bother me that Coach Fisher gets jazzed when his team makes a good play.
