The bond between Carr and Johnson is representative of the camaraderie throughout the team. The pass-catch combo watches hours of film together. Carr welcomed Johnson to his home for training sessions this summer. Johnson lived full-time in Miami but came to Houston regularly to establish a stronger bond, on and off the field, with his quarterback.
We spend a lot of time with each other, Carr said. My dad and his uncle watch every practice together. Its nice to have a guy like that, as talented as he is, who is selfless. He works to make the team better, to make guys around him better. Hes the ultimate team player.
call me crazy, but I think sweeping the Jags last season would be a prime indicator that we have already 'closed the gap', so to speak.Carrs incremental improvement figures to be somewhat concurrent with an upswing for the franchise. Step for step, they hope to close the gap on the Colts and Jaguars.
100? this was a bit of a shock.A sack is filed as a negative play, the loss of yardage logged the same as a fumble or interception. The Texans scored almost 100 negative plays in the passing game alone.

By giving Carr more options, his chances of getting rid of the ball on time increase, and the hope is that will also raise Carrs chances of getting rid of his sack-caused headaches.

Crank_It_Up said:in addition to the sacks and int's, numerous times last year I saw David sprinting for the sidelines and take a loss instead of casually tossing the ball out of bounds after he cleared the pocket... it would have allowed him to save more energy, frustrate the defense, turn a loss into a no gainer, not sure what his strategy was/is there.

Ibar_Harry said:Don't forget about Mathis I still think he will be a big surprise. I must admit Corey has looked a lot better than I though he would which is a plus. Its going to be hard to decide who we keep at the WR spots.
couldnt agree more.rittenhouserobz said:Mathis can be that guy this year. I predict that by week 6 he will take command of the #2 WR on 3rd and long plays, and he will probably bump Bradford by the end of the season. It is just destiny. The kid has the tools to be great.
