Potential Talent

As I watched my beloved Vols get drilled by Notre Dame, I saw two wide receivers who could be a good fit for us.

1. Jeff Samardzija 51 receptions, 877 yards, 12 TDs

2. Maurice Stovall 42 receptions, 666 yards, 6 TDs

Samardzija is a 6-5 220 lb. and Stovall is also 6-5 220 lbs.

Both are Juniors and if they went this year, might slip to the 3rd round maybe, and would be a nice complement to Andre Johnson.

Samardzjia is probably sticking to baseball from what I gather.

WR is pretty far down the list of people that we need to pick up, but if they are available in a later round and we feel that they would be able to help us out significantly then I say go for it. However, we have AJ, Gaffney, Mathis, and Armstrong at WR already so if we are going to draft another one they would have to be better than these guys in some way, and I don't really see finding someone like that late in the draft.

I would agree but you can never tell who will be available come draft day for whatever reason. if Steve Smith (USC) declares early, and is still available early 3rd rd. I take him no matter what (also assuming Casserly hasn't traded the pick). the Texans still need a #2 WR, I'm not sold on Gaffney, Armstrong or Bradford and Mathis is injury prone. The Texans need a big time go after the ball with the game on the line possession athletic playmaker. barring this kind of miracle your prorbably right and the Texans will still be in the same situation next season, who's going to step up?
