This will change a lot till draft day and after FA.

As of tonight:

1. Reggie Nelson
2. Javarious (sp) Moss
3. Chris Houston
4. Tony Ugoh

or maybe even:

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Brandon Merriwether
3. Ben Grubbs
4. Kareem Brown
5. Dan Braz.... (DE from central mich.)

1-Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
2- Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
3- Trent Edwards, QB, Stanford
4- John Wendling, S, Wyoming

Damn. Last I heard, he had declared. After looking over the draft needs, I noticably omitted a biggie, QB, so I've updated my picks.

There were rumors that he would be entering, but nothing was confirmed. He will be returning to Maryland and will be drafted ahead of Long and Baker next year. He is a better prospect IMO than Thomas or D'brick. He isn't as polished with his technique, but he is a better OT prospect than either of them. He has produced on the field. 1 sack allowed in 2 seasons.

1. Adrian Peterson
2. D. Hughes, Cal
3. Ryan Kalil
4. Brandon Meriwether(I expect him to fall in this draft...maybe not a first day pick)

I'd love Meriweather in the fourth. Go nuts over it even.

The main thing that could cause him to drop is questionable character issues, but someone will overlook that with a guy of his potential and skill.

1) LaRon Landry, FS, LSU
2) Tank Tyler, DT, NC State
3) Desmond Bishop, OLB, Cal
4) Brandon Jackson, RB, Nebraska
5) David Irons, CB, Auburn

1) Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
2) Earl Everett, OLB, Florida
3) Michael Johnson, FS, Arizona
4) Brandon Mebane, DT, Cal
5) David Irons, CB, Auburn

1. Adrian Peterson if he's there, if not trade down a few for Marshawn Lynch
2. Joe Staley
3. Kevin Kolb
4. BPA

I'm thinking he's this year's Ko Simpson.

1. Adrian Peterson, RB/OU
2. Adam Carriker, DE/Nebraska
3. Daymieon Hughes, CB/FS/Cal
4. Justin Durant, OLB/Hampton
5. Samson Satele, C/Hawaii

I know that the poster only asked for 4, but I put my 5th round pick as well. I think Satele would be a good pickup at C and may still be there in the 5th...good value.

Carriker is a true 3-4 DE. Unless we're switching back again ? Satele won't make it to five. Hawaii super back is a prospect at the 6 if we say no to all day. Unless the borwnies intervene...

1. All Day RB OU. BUST./B. Allan Branch ...if they do

2. Chris Houston CB Arkansas

3. A. Louis Leonard DT Fresno St./ B. Josh Gettis FS Wake Forest/Ben Grubbs OG Aurburn

4. Jon Beck QB BYU
5. Steven Heyer OLT Maryland/Mike Otto 6-5, 312 Purdue OLT/ Mario Henderson OLT Florida St. 5.40 ( ORT)
6. Germain Race RB Pttsburg St.
7. Micheal McFaddin Mike/Sam Grand Valley St 6-1, 255 (OLB)

1. Adrian Peterson if he's there, if not trade down a few for Marshawn Lynch
2. Joe Staley
3. Kevin Kolb
4. BPA

I don't support trading back to draft a position that I don't feel we need that much. I won't be too upset if we go AP, but I don't want to trade back just to take one position, and Lynch won't be BPA unless we are in the mid-20's.

Staley is a joke, and Wand was a better prospect coming out. Wand was bigger and stronger with just as good of feet. I want no part of this again. I don't like Kolb for our team and I don't see why so many people have to use homersim when doing this stuff.

I'm thinking he's this year's Ko Simpson.

Ko Simpson had more talent than Nelson, Landry, or Merriwether. Simpson fell because of intelligence and maturity concerns, and his wonderlic score really ended up doing him in IMO. Teams put way too much stock in that test, because he is the best S in that draft, and better than any S in this draft. I would have supported him in the middle of the 1st and each round after.

2- Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
3- Trent Edwards, QB, Stanford
4- John Wendling, S, Wyoming

Well, I'm not going to start an AP debate, because this is soon going to be a VY type man-love, so I'll assume we go with AP. Staley is at least a year away from playing in the NFL, and I honestly believe he will never be good enough to start. His body strength is horendous, and he does not use leverage when engaging. He seems to almost be on his heels in pass blocking or when the defender comes into him. His feet are great laterally, but he hasn't shown much for getting to the second level yet, but he could potentially.

Trent Edwards is a flyer QB, but I don't want one. I want a bon-a-fide elite QB. I'm willing to wait for a year or two. I think Sage or another Vet or even Carr (maybe) can do the job with an improved offensive line and additional coaching. I truely believe that if we build an above average offensive line, that we can just plug in a QB with top talent much like what we attempted to do with Carr from year one, we just left out the concept of building a line for our QB.

I like the S, but he will go higher, and he is not overly amazing. He is probally better than Brown but I wouldn't give him that nod by much. I want a noticable upgrade through the draft, not someone who can compete for the job. I want someone who will take the job and force Brown to the bench like his tallent would dictate. I want someone who can just come in here and win the job outright.

1. Jamaal Anderson/Gaines Adams/Adrian Peterson
2. Earl Everett//Charles Johnson
3. Ryan Harris
4. Darius Walker/Kyle Shotwell

I admire that you are still on the Ko Simpson bandwagon. He did ok this year. He was exactly what I thought he would be. He is athletic, but very inconsistent. He also has a recognition time similar to that of CC Brown (that is slow). He would be an upgrade over Brown easily, but he was not a 1st or 2nd round talent. Hell I thought he would be lucky to make the end of the 3rd. His talent and potential warranted a first day pick, but his inconsistency and inability to pick up a play warranted him to be picked right were he was.

Meriweather is clearly the most athletic safety in this years draft and right now my favorite option for us. I would like us to get him in the second. Meriweather is likely on the same athletic level as Huff. He should run high 4.3s or low 4.4s and he can play corner or either safety position.

1. All Day RB OU. BUST

The underlined portion is crazy talk IMO.:)

I've seen many projections for Carriker as a 34 DE. That doesn't necessarily mean that he couldn't be a 43 DE....but maybe a better pick is Jarvis Moss, but he'd probably have to bulk up a bit. Either way I think that one of these DEs should be there early in the 2nd.

You really don't think Satele will make it to the 5th? Maybe not, but he is rated by many as the 4th best C. Do you really see Ryan Kalil, Doug Datish , Kyle Young, and Samson Satele all taken before the 5th? I could see at least one still on the board.

1) LaRon Landry (I think his leadership and instincts will move him up enough for us to feel comfortable taking him at 8. That is of course if he has good workouts)
2) Justin Blalock (Versatile offensive lineman who can play both guard and tackle and should be a nice fit in our zone blocking scheme)
3) Kevin Kolb (We only had 2 quarterbacks go into this season on the roster and it kind of ended up showing us that, that was not a good idea. He should be a good backup and maybe even eventual starter for us. The question is if he will be here in the 3rd round.)
4) Chris Davis (This receiver out of FSU is a great punt returner and a pretty good reciever. He has some pretty decent hands and some amazing quickness and speed. He's very good at making the initial guy miss and picking up extra yards...something that we look for in our receivers. His lack of numbers is more of a reflection of bad coaching and bad quarterbacking.)

Edit: I realize Kolb may not be there so I'll put Tony Taylor (WLB with good tackling and coverage ability. He had something liek 5 INTs this year at the WLB spot) there if he is not.

RB is a position we don't need? Our running game was dismal all season. Not one of our running backs performed consistently all season and it would be stupid to rely on DW's return, he's proven himself injury prone. The running game is intregal to our game plan. It will take pressure off the Passing game and o-line.

As far as Staley goes, I honestly don't know much about him except that he's projected to go top of the 2nd and we still need help on the line.

Explain how wanting Kolb is homerism. Wanting anyone who played ball in Texas is being a homer, regardless of their talent? Explain how Kolb is not a good fit for our team. We need to replace Carr. Not immediately with Kolb, but we need someone waiting in the wings being groomed, and that's who Kolb is. He doesnt get much recognition because he plays for UH. Given time, he will be a good NFL QB.

If Anderson and Gaines are off the table before #8 I am hoping to see a trade back with Green Bay at #16 (depending on if Green leaves via FA).
GB takes AD at #8 the Texans get #16, GB's 2nd RD #47. Texans have to give up their 6th RD pic to make this happen. Texans draft: (3 of the top 50)

1.Charles Johnson, DE
2. Merriweather, FS
2. Earl Everrett, OLB
3. Ryan Harris, OT
4. Darius Walker, RB

I don't count DD/DW as part of our team. I think our struggles initially were again because of our inept line. They were learning a newish system with yet another new coach. When you add in that our LT broke his leg, it is easy to understand why our running game took a while to flourish. I think towards the end of the season, we were at the point of being able to plug in any back from our roster and have success. Taylor, Dayne, and either Lundy/Gado make a very good tandem. Taylor reminds me so much of DD/DW prior to his injury.

As far as Staley goes, I honestly don't know much about him except that he's projected to go top of the 2nd and we still need help on the line.
You need to research a player before you just say they would be a good choice for our team. He is a lesser prospect than Wand. We need line help, but he is not the answer. Someone like Sears, Grubbs, Duckworth, Satele, Blaylock, Rameriez, Kailh, Datish...they would all be better for our offensive line and scheme than Staley. Just some basic research.

I call it homerism because everyone has fallen in love with him and he is included with every mock draft. He isn't that good a QB. He has played in the same system since grade school I believe, he doesn't have the arm, and he scrambles too soon before he needs too. He is just not that great a fit on our team.

1a) allan branch else best CB available (they can decide)

2) robert meachem else levi brown

3) antonio pittman

oh and they will sign jake plummer to a FA contract

1. Adrian Peterson RB
2. Brandon Merriweather S
3. Earl Everett OLB
4. QB (kevin kolb if available)
5. BPA
6. BPA
7. BPA

I'm really supporting a trade back.

We really need an additional 2nd round pick. I like Moss as an edge rusher and Houston as a strong man coverage corner, and neither will last till the third. We can still go FS after a trade back, and still have our choice of some good DT's in the 3rd, or even OL.

1. say around pick 15 : Landry/Nelson
2a. Houston
2b. Moss
3. Kailh/Grubbs
4. Mebane/Miami DT

I disagree on this, I think Meriweather, Landry, and Nelson are all better prospects than Ko Simpson, likely Michael Griffin too.

That aside, here is my ideal 4-round scenarios as of right now:

1st) Adrian Peterson, if gone then Jamaal Anderson, if both gone then Leon Hall, then LaRon Landry.
2nd) Brandon Meriweather or Chris Houston, probably Meriweather at this point because CB is a deeper group this year, if both are gone then Adam Carriker.
3rd) Fred Bennett/Josh Wilson (unless we already took a CB), if gone then Ben Grubbs, if all gone then David Harris, then Kareem Brown, then Kenny Irons.
4th) Baraka Atkins, Brandon Mebane, Dan Bazuin, Jay Moore, Desmond Bishop, Anthony Waters, Brandon Frye, Gary Russell, or Marshall Yanda depending on previous positions picked.

1) Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
2) Earl Everett, OLB, Florida
3) Michael Johnson, FS, Arizona
4) Brandon Mebane, DT, Cal
5) David Irons, CB, Auburn

I like this but would like to see...

1)Adrian Peterson RB Oklahoma
2)Brandon Meriweather FS Miami
3)Ryan Kalil C USC
4)Brandon Mebane DT Cal
5)David Irons CB Auburn
6)Ed McCarthy OL Yale (6'5 302, played every position on OL. received AP Walter camp 1st team all american)
7)Paul Williams WR Fresno St. (6'2 210lbs)

yes, Datish is going to fall like a rock. Don't know about the guys you listed, but the guys with C/G beside their names will always go ahead of the true centers. Satele is big quick, which means he can pull, nasty. Manny Ramerez also. Both play in a spread offense . And just might have the feet to cover a tackel. Don't know about their arms. But that reads to me that they will get pushed up the boards. Datish was abused in that bowl game. They're still tring to get the A-B gap thingy figgured out. He's going to drop like a rock.

The injuries are not nothing. You call it crazy . I call it prudent. All day wasn't even close to the best back in this years class. The past three years ? Next year ? I'm sorry our interpretations of a franchise back differ radically. He'll be availble to us at the eight this year for a reason. We keep reaching for guys like this. We'll never get better. New staff at the wheel we'll see. I've excepted the fact that in all probablity that he will be the guy. I just don't think it's a very good move. Is that ok ?

That's not bad Old Miss. Hit the sore spot, the o-line addressed the safty. Isn't Mebane in the 302 range ?

1. Adrian Peterson, if gone Reggie Nelson
2. Best DB (Ross, Houston, Hughes, Meriweather if he's not arrested before the draft), if Nelson in the 1st then Michael Bush
3. QB (Troy Smith if he falls, Kolb) or OL (Ryan Harris, Kalil)
4. DT (Kareem Brown, Mebane) or DE (situational pass rusher, maybe Dan Bazuin)

Yes, that is perfectly okay with me. In case you didn't notice, in my previous post, I did put a smilie face which was meant to signify "good-natured" ribbing. I guess you didn't take it that way.

Regardless, you have your opinion and I respect that, but I just don't agree. You have your opinion, but anyone that thinks AP is a "reach" is beyond me...wow.

The REASON that he may be available at #8 IMO is b/c he didn't have eye-popping stats this yr and most of the teams from picks 1-7 don't need a RB.:twocents:
