I kind of favor letting the young, talented guys get out on the field and learn the hard way. The Texans are still a very young franchise and we, as fans, are wanting them to win NOW. Maybe if we show some patience developing players like Peek, Anderson and Pettaway(SP?) we can have a solid core on the defense for years to come. Players can only learn so much from practice and need the game day experience to become productive starters in the NFL.
Kind of like the Astro's are letting the young guys in that organization get on the field and play. We'll take some lumps this year, but 2005 and on will be soooo much sweeter because of those lumps. Remember....5 YEAR PLAN. Not 4. :brickwall

i agree. but for that to happen i believe that peek anderson and pettway must get about the same playing time in the pre-season. that way the texans can see how good everybody is without the problem of some guys having more time than others to prove what they are worth. just my opinion.

Sounds reasonable to me. I guess I mostly like the idea of keeping away from the high$$$ free agency market(unless it's a total no-brainer) and develope our draft picks to avoid the salary cap hell other teams go through. I guess it's easy to have that opinion when we seem to have done a pretty good job of drafting talent( Joppru not withstanding).

yeah, the free agency is expensive.
