I'm predicting D Rob will have at least two intercecptions taken to the house and also P Buc with two this season. We have so bad boys at corner.
 
I think the defense will honestly pick up quite well. I wouldn't mind seeing Walker, Payne, Smith, and TJ on the field at the same time for goalline situations. BTW, We are lacking a big NT (350-370 range) for goalline situations. We need an immovable force in the middle of the line so that we force the defense to either pass or run toward Peek or Babin. I would like the Texans to find a young Ted Washington or Keith Traylor prototype.With guys like Wong, Earl, and Drob waiting for the runner on the outside we could be formiddable. Right now it is too easy for teams to bang it up the gut and try to avoid the outside penetration.

There has been great focus on offensive special teams. If theory is correct, the offense should get more chances to score this year because of the improved ST.

I am drafting DD high in my fantasy draft, because this OL knows how to run block.

Its the pass protection that suffers. From the OL to the TE and RB's pass blocking. I believe that the Texans have put a great deal of effort into continuity of the OL for pass protection, and they been training DC for 3 and 5 step drop passes which are quick timing throws, as opposed to the 7 step passes that allow Freeney open season on DC. These two changes in addition to the OL personnel staying put for the most part should help the Texans offense moving forward this year.
 
How did a thread about bring picks but for touchdowns end up about offensive and defensive schemes? And I think that the team willonly run one pick back for a TD this year.

I heard he threw a couple of 7 step drop passes in his college career. A couple as in two (2).
 
O yeah. :) I think Drob will get one and Pbuc will get one. I am really more concerned about Pbuc taking unneccesary chances when we are ahead. I hope calculates a little more when he jumps a route.
 
I don't know how many P-Buc and Dunta will have but I would like to put my name in the hat for Faggins to take one to the house.
 
I care less about INT's returned for TD's than I care about the number of passing TD's our defense allows. Last year the Texans were next to last in the NFL with 32 passing TD's allowed. Green Bay was the worst with 33, Kansas City also allowed 32.

In contrast, we were the best in the league in rushing TD's allowed with only 4.

I think there is a near direct correlation between fewest Def sacks and 31st(t) in passing TDs given up,

While I don't want to take anything away from the guys rushing TD stat, it's only relevant if you're decent against the pass as well.

Hey I feel you on that, but our secondary has gotten better and being able to score on defense is very much relavent. With the passing TD's we allowed (last season) we stilled managed a 7-9 season but we also lost games by 3, 6, and 7 points which could have easliy made our record 10-6 (last season). I'm just saying that I'm amped about having two young confident corners on both sides of the field. At anytime they can change the game with the capability of jumping the route and putting points on the board. QB's start :crying:
 
Well hopefully our Secondary steps it up like the Denver secondary squad did last night. 7-8 picks on the night and 3 that could have easily been taken to the house.

Wasnt seeing a whole lot of that kind of pressure from our squad, but I had a limited view of them on the night.
 
Don't know why I just don't have the good feeling about the defense that alot of others do. I have not bought into the idea of Buchanan and Greenwood are an upgrade over Glenn and Sharper. Glenn was showing his age but was a good cover corner and a good tackler. Both are essential in an attacking defense where the corners are on islands. Over the course of his career Buchanan has been neither. He will make big plays but also make alot of mistakes. Andre made him look like Matt Stevens. Hopefully its just technique and can be fixed. I may be by myself on this one but I'm also not a big fan of Marcus Coleman and thought the defense played much better at the end of the year without him. Enough negatives, besides I'm almost always wrong. Let the games begin.
