Phillip Buchanon, Breakfast Food

seems like everytime they went to buchanons side he was toast and his pathetic tackling on the run i think matt matt stevens did better and that is bad..... I really liked the defense last yr but this yr oh my i have found my new d player to rip on.... this guy is terrible ........

His tackling is suspect.

His pass defense is absent.

He's short against most receivers, and not nearly as fast as he's advertised.

Other than that, he's a pretty good upgrade over Aaron Glenn. :tv:

Ready to change your avatar? Oh yeah and I also told you that P. Buch sucked all week too. As did Raider fans.

he didn't play great but.....

we should be more pissed at how what a pathetic job our D-line did of pressuring the QB. Poor D-line play can make a secondary even worse than it is.

Despite P-Buck becoming toast, having the opportunity to win in the 4th with the way the offense played is ok. I don't know about you guys but I can live with that.

After the first quarter he settled down, but exactly do you expect when we blitz patically every down in the first quarter and leave him in single coverage against two very good recivers. He has no deep help, so he can't risk jumping a route and he has to respect Evans' speed. ON the play he got beat deep on was because of the no-contact rule. Evans went to his inside and if Buchannon cuts across to force him back out, he gets called for pass interfearnace, as it was he was right with Evans, but the ball was thrown perfectly. All of this was amplified by the fact we had no pass rush.

On the tackling issue, he made some great plays, cutting down McGahee for a loss, negated by a penalty, and some very bad looking tackles.... But if we get him some help, I think he will do well for us. Anyway, reserve your judgemnt for a week when we have more than 107 total yds and have the ball for about 15 minutes....

Yea, if the offense hadn't put the D in terrible situations all game long we would have had a very good chance. The D did it's usual bend but don't break but that style only works if your offense shows a little consistency and puts more than 7 points on the board.

Pbuc was terrible in my book. Way too much cushion given...again. Terrible tackling...again. He was abused by every reciever the Bills had. It got so bad, they had a contest in the 2nd qtr. They called a seat number, to come play WR. It was some Grandmother in a wheel chair, but she caught 3 passes on him. Another good job Cass. He only cost us Aaron Glenn and two first day picks. It's not like we paid alot to get him or anything.

What and this is a surprise to everyone? All of the sudden he changes uniforms and becomes Superman? He was the #2 cornerback in Oakland on the verge of being a nickel back, then we sign him and all of the sudden he becomes our #1? Nice thinking.

so far the buchanon project is a bust....

Wow, one game in and it's a bust? It's a good thing we're such a patient bunch here.

Look, no one liked Buchanon's play today, but if you didn't notice, there were 20 other culprits to blame as well (I exempt D-Rob; he had a good game). As one poster above stated, Buchanon had no safety help on some of those because we're blitzing or stacking the box (look how well CC Brown was doing early on - the same time Buchanon was getting toasted). If Buchanon plays too tight and gets burned deep, it's 6. If he plays off, the WR just has to wait for those hips to turn and then curl up. It's no coincidence that Lee Evans and Moulds combined for 5 of their 6 receptions in the first quarter. Once we started dropping our safeties back, those guys were covered. Of course, at that point, we had no QB pressure.

Wow. Are any of you better then P-Buch? I didnt think so. Hes not "that bad" its the simple fact that he has to hold 2 people each play because of a ****ty D overall. P-Buch is as good as anyone when he has his chance to actually hold to one man. He made a few mistakes which everyone will do but overall I saw alot more thinks to complain about rather then P-Buch.

Been sitting here watching the losing since 2002. I'd pretty much have to say that anyone who's been here that long and hasn't tried to hang himself watching this team shoot itself in the foot qualifies as patient in my book.

Catch Aaron Glenn's interception by any chance?

No, and I don't make the money he makes. I bet I could fix a lot more computer than him too, but that doesn't mean he couldn't gripe if I hosed his computer. This is what he has chosen as his profession. IF he can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
