Paid Attendance question

I saw on the big board at the game last week "Paid Attendance 70,000" does that mean 70,000 paid for and attended the game or 70,000 tickets were sold? because the stadium looked about half full last week.

It is the number of tickets sold for that game. It does not mean there were 70,000 people there and you will not get the number of people that were actually at the game.
